Magic potion drunk by the Three Lions revealed after claims of mid-match doping

The magic potion that eagle-eyed football fans spotted Kieran Trippier guzzling against Serbia has been revealed.

England opened their Euro 2024 campaign on Sunday (June 16) against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen. Jude Bellingham was the man of the moment again when he came crashing into the box to power home Bukayo Saka’s cross.

However, it was a moment involving Trippier, 33, that had fans talking on social media during the game. The Newcastle United full-back was falsely accused of doping by some fans on social media, when he was spotted necking a ‘magic potion’ after going down with cramp.

Pickle juice is good for avoiding cramp

The Three Lions camp has stocked up on pickle juice for the Euro 2024 campaign because the drink has properties to help combat cramp. It has found to stop cramping up to ’40 per cent faster than drinking water’.

It might help if football comes home too – with reports suggesting it helps cure alcohol-induced hangovers too.

Pickle juice’s properties to stop cramp are well-known in the sporting world. Ex-Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira was handed a bottle of the drink during the Gunners’ 2-0 victory over Chelsea in 2019.

While, over in tennis, Carlos Alcaraz has been seen guzzling the substance – most notable occasion coming during the Spaniard’s five-set triumph over Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon last summer.
