Paddy Power create final away day with celebs, VIP jet and an England win
Paddy Power don’t do things by halves and they proved this with their recent ‘Paddy’s Fairlines’ jaunt to Germany to see Southgate’s men beat the Serbians with all the trimmings
If you could create the ultimate England trip you’d probably want a private jet, booze, bacon butties, booze, celebs, booze, a quiz and some booze.
Well, if you won the Paddy Power Penalty Shootout competition you’d have been in luck. But you didn’t. George Parkin from London did. He joined thousands of fans at Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road the weekend before last, where actor Danny Dyer, Tottenham legend Ledley King and ex-Southampton and Everton star James Beattie also took aim at the title of England’s best penalty taker.
And he won with the final five scooped themselves and three mates a VIP weekend to Germany onboard Irish firm Paddy Power’s new Paddy Fairlines airline service, with £5,000 spending money.
He said: “I actually missed one of my penalties on the day, but I got a second chance. I think no one scored in one round of the comp, so there was a PA announcement that anyone who missed could have another go and I was off like a shot to the front of the queue. Even then I got lucky. I missed two penalties, but some other lad missed three so I got through to the final!”
George joined Paddy Power as a special guest for their first flight onboard Paddy’s Fairlines last weekend, when winners departed for Dusseldorf via private jet to witness Southgate and Co beat Serbia 1-0 in Gelsenkirchen thanks to a thirteenth-minute goal from Jude Bellingham, with Jordan Pickford making a crucial save late on to deny Dusan Vlahovic.
