Chris Kamara touched by England followers’ stylish gesture forward of Euro 2024 conflict

Sky Sports icon Chris Kamara was touched by England fans’ classy gestures as he walked through the city centre in Frankfurt.

The Three Lions are in town for their second Euro 2024 clash with Denmark on Thursday (June 20) evening – as they look to book their spot in the knockout stages. And ahead of kick off, Kamara, 66, shared clips of him in Frankfurt.

Kamara was walking through the cobbled centre when shouts of “Kammy” could be heard off camera. And once the England fans realised who had just walked past, they erupted into a song of “there’s only one Chris Kamara!”

Kamara was diagnosed with Apraxia after experiencing symptoms of a speech disorder two years ago.

After a stellar playing career, Kamara earned fame on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday – where he often left fans in stitches alongside Jeff Stelling and Paul Merson among others.

However, he left his role on Sky Sports in 2022 after being diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, leaving him with a condition that affects his speech. And Kamara has since posted updates on his condition – he even starred in a documentary about his new life.

Kamara has also been awarded an MBE since leaving Sky Sports – for his services to charity and anti-racism.
