Royal Ascot proves an excessive amount of for some punters
Boozy Brits were back out in force at Royal Ascot on Friday as an afternoon of carnage spilt into the night.
The King and Queen watched from above as thousands of Brits downed jugs of Pimms and pints of lager as they enjoyed another raucous day at the races.
While many people, especially in the royal enclosure, enjoyed the races, others were more there for the social side of Ascot – and a mighty drinking session.
Racegoer Jess, 21, from Ashford in Surrey, said: ‘It’s a bit of a p*** up.
‘Everyone is our age, it’s nice weather, the vibes are high, the horses are winning and I’m earning money. I’ve made £100 so far.
‘There’s a lot of drinking. I come for the social side of it. It’s always good fun. No one is a negative Nancy.’

A woman in a skimpy light blue dress told MailOnline: ‘We were in the Queen Anne’s Enclosure, just near the riff-raff in the Windsor section. I think I won some money but it was a bit of a blur. It was a proper booze fest.’
Down on the grass, Brits lounged in the sun, many with their eyes closed as they basked in the gorgeous afternoon.
Revellers were still engaging in drunken debauchery well into the night, hours after the final horses had run.
At one point, two women introduced the quaint town of Ascot to twerking as they pole danced on a lamppost.

Frequent racegoer Max Skelton, 19, from Windsor, came with a gang of mates he knew from school.
The youngster said they spent the day sweltering in the sun on the grass near the track, gearing up for a pub crawl and a big night out.
He said: ‘I’ve lost a lot but I’ve been coming for a few years now. It’s hot today – worse than last year.’
For some though, this was their first time at the races and despite the heavy drinking and outrageous behaviour, they seemed to have a good time.
Singer Daisey O’Donnell, 25, and her sister Ellie, 27, a model, came all the way from Huddersfield for the races.
Chatting to a pair of men with brilliant white veneers and heavy fake tan, the sisters said they were loving their experience so far.
Ellie said: ‘It’s our first time at Ascot. We’re having the best time.’
Mimi, 20, and Zsuzso, 24, came from even further afield. The best friends travelled from Budapest, Hungary, specifically to see the races at Ascot.
Mimi told MailOnline: ‘It’s amazing, we love it – the dresses, the people. The drinking is always fun. We shouldn’t mix but we drank a lot – we love to try everything.’
At least two people were arrested during the night after an altercation at Vall de Cavall, a packed bar pumping music opposite the racecourse.
Meanwhile, as party lovers started to wander home, chivalrous boyfriends gave piggybacks to their girlfriends.

It wasn’t just the young who seemingly went too far. One elderly lady was seen clutching a magnum bottle of bubbly as she hobbled towards the train station.
Another older woman in a red dress was spotted doing her best to stay upright as she stumbled about while holding onto a lamppost for support.
Nearby, a third woman with no shoes or socks on leant down and stubbed her cigarette out on the pavement while chatting with her mates.
A rather well-dressed gentleman walked past in smart tails – but in a peculiar turn, he decided to remove his top hat and replace it with a lady’s fascinator instead.
By the late evening, a burst of rain spelled danger for many in lighter-coloured dresses – sending women rushing from the streets.
