Uri Geller says aliens are coming after Just Stop Oil sprayed Stonehenge orange

Spoonbender Uri Geller warns that Just Stop Oil’s Stonehenge attack will upset aliens.

The psychic, 77, says the ancient site has cosmic significance – and the Tarquins’ actions could provoke extraterrestrials.

Two protesters were arrested on Wednesday morning after spraying the Wiltshire monument – which is believed to be 5,000 years old – with orange paint made from cornflower.

Uri, left, says he can’t understand why they would target something so “powerful”.

He said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if tonight or tomorrow there is UFO activity over Stonehenge. I believe it has a connection to an extraterrestrial source. It’s almost like an ancient computer.

“These types of structures produce power, and the fact that someone tried to desecrate it or damage it is a massive insult.”

And he added of the protesters: “If they’re for the environment, why would they damage something so ancient and so holy and so important for England?”

Following the spraying of the famous landmark, an English Heritage spokesperson said: “We can’t understand why anyone who professes to care for the environment would attempt to harm such a monument and to distress people from all over the world, including those for whom Stonehenge holds a spiritual significance.”

English Heritage chief executive, Dr Nick Merriman said: “It’s difficult to understand and we’re deeply saddened about this vandalism, but we’ve been really touched by the messages of sympathy and support we’ve had.

“Our experts have already managed to clean the orange powder from the stones because we were really worried about what would happen if they got in contact with water.

“So far, there seems to be no visible damage. The site is open to the public again and for the solstice tomorrow.”
