Prison officer ‘had intercourse with inmates like Levi Bellfield at Monster Mansion’

A female prison officer had sex with criminals including depraved serial killer Levi Bellfield, according to a new book.

The warden at HMP Wakefield, dubbed the ‘Monster Mansion’ jail as it holds some of the most dangerous criminals in the country, is accused of sleeping with several inmates.

Nearly two thirds are in the high security prison for committing sex offences, including John Warboys and paedophile former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins.

New book ‘Inside Wakefield Prison: Life Behind Bars in the Monster Mansion’ quotes Bellfield’s pen pal as saying the staff member “went around having sex with multiple inmates” but was allegedly sacked after she “settled down with one”.

The former bouncer was jailed for life in 2008 for the hammer murders of Amelie Delagrange, 22, and 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell and the attempted murder of Kate Sheedy, 18.

Three years later he was convicted of killing schoolgirl Milly Dowler, 13, who was abducted on her way home from school in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, in 2002.

Authors Jonathan Levi and Emma French also claim pervert Lostprophets singer Watkins pays gangsters for protection, infamous inmate Charles Bronson behaved “like a spoiled brat” and “Dr Death” Harold Shipman once dished out medical advice to fellow prisoners.

In 2004, the Ministry of Justice insisted Shipman, who was convicted of murdering 15 of his patients by lethal injection in 2000, never gave medical advice to other patients.

However, former prison officer Martin Baker said inmates told him how Shipman ‘diagnosed’ them with conditions.

Shipman, 57, hung himself in 2004 and a review concluded the prison staff could not have predicted or prevented his death.

But the book claims at least two officers were aware of his plan to commit suicide.

Also imprisoned there is child sex killer Roy Whiting, who kidnapped and murdered Sarah Payne in July 2000.

According to the book he is even hated in the Monster Mansion, and will probably be murdered inside after frequent attacks.

He prefers to stay in his cell smoking, only coming out to use the sewing machine, it claims.
