Queen Mary and King Frederik congratulate son on graduating college
Proud parents Queen Mary and King Frederik of Denmark congratulated their eldest child on graduating high school today.
Heir apparent Prince Christian, 18, looked to be in high spirits as he stood outside Ordrup Gymnasium in Gentofte with his family, including siblings Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and Princess Isabella.
The royals smiled as they marked the special moment by posing for photos together outside the school and speaking to local media.
Sporting a summery ensemble, Mary, 52, donned a crisp white linen shirt which she tucked into a colourful cream floral-patterned skirt.
She tied her look together with a brown rattan bag and some camel open-toe heels.

The mother-of-four also opted to accessorise her ensemble with large hoops and various gold bracelets, choosing to wear her shiny brunette tresses down in a wavy blow-dry.
Mary wore a glamorous makeup look, opting for a smoky bronze eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, bronzer and some pale pink lipstick.
Meanwhile, her husband King Frederik, 56, stepped out in a white shirt, sapphire-blue blazer, tan-coloured chinos and black trainers.
The couple, who have been married for 20 years, looked loved up as they wrapped their arms around each other whilst walking away from the school.
Christian smiled for cameras and opted to wear a loose patterned grey shirt, white trousers and slate-coloured trainers for his last day. He also donned a studenterhue – a traditional cap worn by Danish graduates on the last day of school.
It is not known if Christian will also take part in other traditional end-of-school customs in the Scandinavian nation – which according to Visit Denmark include packed trucks, dancing, loud music and throngs of excited students.
It is likely that the royal will now attend University in the Autumn and complete his military training, following in his father’s footsteps.
This is a similar situation to Princess Leonor, the heir to the Spanish throne. Upon finishing school, she started her three years of intense defence training.

Two years ago, Prince Christian was pulled out of the elite Herlufsholm Boarding School after allegations of sexual and physical abuse at the institution surfaced in a documentary. His sister Isabella was also due to attend, but her parents pulled her out too.
The pair were enrolled at Ordrup Gymnasium, and as Isabella is only one year below her brother, Mary and Frederik will likely be at the school around the same time next year to celebrate their eldest daughter’s graduation.
The school Christian graduated from was founded in 1873 by HC Frederiksen (called Friser), who wanted to move away from the traditional teaching methods of his time.
The school, which offers several clubs, including elite sports clubs, was the first one to introduce co-ed teaching in Denmark and is considered an innovative institution.
The core values at Ordrup are to encourage ‘curiosity’ among its students, as well as ‘cooperation and respect’.
Princess Isabella, 17, went for a casual outfit ensemble and followed in her mother’s footsteps by donning a frilly white shirt, a denim midi-skirt along with brown sandals and a cream bag, which she held under her shoulder.
Meanwhile Josephine, 13, sported a navy and black flowy floral blouse, a pair of white linen shorts with a brown belt, and a pair of green suede Adidas trainers.
Her twin Prince Vincent kept things simple with a blue shirt, white shorts and a pair of trainers.
