Rob Burrow’s grieving spouse Lindsey pays tribute to hard-working unpaid carers
Rob Burrow’s grieving wife Lindsey says she wants to “shine a light” on the hard work of unpaid carers.
The mum-of-three is preparing to take up the battle to “raise awareness for carers and the work that they do”.
She became one herself in the rugby ace’s final years as he battled with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

“I think they are often unseen, they are often forgotten and they are basically keeping our country going,” she told ITV’s Lorraine.
“They save the NHS about £162 billion a year which is the equivalent of a second NHS service.”
Lindsey says their kids are doing well and are coping with the loss of Rob.
“They’re just incredibly proud of their dad and the legacy that he leaves,” she said. “Rob would want us to be happy and I am determined to make Rob proud and to live on his legacy.”
Describing Rob as “a devoted family man”, Lindsey said: “He worshipped the children.
“He would enjoy spending time with the children and that’s what he lived for and I think the children kept him going right to the end.
“He wouldn’t give in until his final breath and he fought a courageous battle with MND and we are incredibly proud of him.”
