‘England and Germany are getting on so nicely they even sang Three Lions collectively’

Relations between England and Germany have scaled an all-time high.

Evidence of this could be found in the Dubliners pub in Erfurt, close to where the England team is based. One member of the English media took the brave step of grasping the microphone during a karaoke night.

He chose to belt out his own, out of tune version of ‘Three Lions’. And the German punters were so impressed – or drunk – they decided to join in.

Josh Denzel doesn’t appear to be shy when it comes to flashing his wealth at Euro 2024. The former Love Island contestant is interviewing England players as part of the ‘Lion’s Den’ daily YouTube show. And it’s almost impossible to miss the timepiece on his wrist.

The watch appears to be one by Richard Mille, who makes some of the most exclusive and expensive ones on the planet. Prices can start from as little as £100,000. Although it could be a fake, of course!

Electric scooters have become a popular and fun mode of transport around the cities of Germany.

But one journalist wasn’t laughing when he was approached by local police while trying to get one of the machines to work. He was suspected of being over the drink drive limit – and subsequently breathalysed.

Penalties include on the spot fines – or even arrest.

The rush to report the news on social media tends to leave some organisations with their pants pulled down. Looking plain stupid, even, if truth be known.

Take broadcasters TNT for example. In the wake of Hungarian star Barnabas Varga getting seriously injured in a collision with Angus Gunn during the Scotland game, TNT posted a tweet of a photo of Kevin Csoboth holding up Varga’s No.19 shirt.

It was accompanied with the caption, ‘Kevin Csoboth dedicated his last minute winner to Barnabas Varga after his team mate suffered a fatal collision earlier in the game’.

TNT deleted the offending message.

But not before making themselves look utterly crude. But hey, never let the facts get in the way of a good story eh?
