Conor Gallagher needs to be consoled by WAG after he is hooked by Gareth Southgate
Conor Gallagher had to be consoled by his stunning WAG after he was hooked during England’s snoozefest with Slovenia.
Gallagher, 25, was drafted in to replace an underperforming Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Three Lions’ final group stage clash. However, the Chelsea man was hooked at half-time himself in favour of Manchester United’s starlet Kobbie Mainoo.
And after he was subbed off, Gallagher had to be consoled by his stunning WAG Aine May Kennedy. Images emerged of the pair embracing at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne.

Aine was one of several WAGs in attendance at the Cologne Stadium to cheer on their other halves. While Bukayo Saka’s partner Tolami Benson stunned in an England tracksuit – after wowing fans with a retro jacket earlier in the Euros.
Dani Dyer, Anouska Santos Annie Keating and Olivia Naylor were all also spotted in the stands on Tuesday.
What did you think of Conor Gallagher’s performance against Slovenia? Let us know in the comments section
“Hard to believe that adding Conor Gallagher to this England team hasn’t improved things at all. Mystifying,” one fan fumed. While a second said: “Can’t express how funny it is that the only person who thought Conor Gallagher was the solution to fix this was the England manager…”
“Not seen a Gallagher this lost since Noel was in the middle of that ‘Poznan’,” a third joked. And another added: “Trent and Gallagher must be absolutely unbelievable central midfielders in training…”
A fifth pointed out: “I really don’t know how you can watch both of England’s games so far and conclude that swapping Trent for Gallagher solves your tactical problems…”
Speaking after the game, Southgate praised Conor Gallagher: “There’s lots to build on from tonight. Tonight we started with Conor who pressed well, then we thought Kobbie’s ability to move the ball up the pitch would help us and it did.
“I don’t think we were ever going to go from where we were to winning 3-0 or 4-0. But there were a lot of things I was pleased about.
“We have to take it a step at a time. Tonight was an improvement and we have to keep improving. But we have topped the group and that was our intention at the start.”
