‘Hawk Tuah’ lady to ‘Crazy Plane Lady’ did THEY get the final chuckle?

None of them could have predicted how quickly they would be thrust into the limelight after their mortifying moments went viral.

But a clique of ‘internet queens’ is emerging after several women whipped up a media storm when their actions were caught on camera and shared widely online. 

They include the ‘Crazy Plane Lady’ who had an epic meltdown on an airplane and the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl who shared her best sex tips in a man-on-the-street interview.  

Yet despite the embarrassing nature of their viral fame, are they having the last laugh?

DailyMail.com takes a look at the women who became overnight sensations this year – and how they cashed in on their five minutes of fame. 

The ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl

Hailey Welch, 23, became queen of the internet this week after her graphic demonstration of a ‘sex tip’ involving spitting went viral, garnering instant mimicry from fans.

But the young woman from Nashville is cashing in on all the hype – selling more than $65,000 in merchandise – after teaming up with Jason Poteete, owner of Tennessee-based apparel company Fathead Threads.

The $32.70 official headgear proclaiming ‘Hawk Tuah ’24, Spit on That Thang’ sells for $43.70 if they have her original signature on the brim. 

Welch hit worldwide recognition after she was asked for her tip for ‘making a man go crazy in bed’ during a Nashville street video for Tim & Dee TV, which aired on June 19.

Enthusiastically, and with considerable demonstration to mimic the noise, she revealed: ‘You gotta give ‘em that hawk tuah.’

Hundreds of memes have followed, there’s talk of a Hollywood agent, the phrase was yelled out by a fan as 2024 US Open golf champion Bryson DeChambeau hit a tee shot at the LIV event in Nashville and gymnast Olivia Dunne has joined the craze.

She wrote ‘leave Miss Tuah out of this’ after a GIF of Welch was in the comments when she posted bikini shots of herself with MLB star boyfriend Paul Skenes.

The bizarre incident was documented in the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety that Dallas News obtained, and she was banned from flying on the airline.

She later apologized for her behavior describing it as not her ‘best moment’ and saying she was a ‘brat,‘ she become a viral sensation racking up more than 450 million views.
