Bloke watching England match left shocked by what companion says to him

Football’s not just a game, it’s a full-blown passion that brings mates together to have a proper shout at the telly.

England managed a 2-1 win against Slovakia last night (June 30th), bagging themselves a spot in the UEFA Euros quarter-finals to face off with Switzerland this weekend.

But let’s be honest, the Three Lions’ fans haven’t exactly been chuffed with the lads’ show so far, especially after a pretty lacklustre group stage where they only banged in two goals across three games and ended up drawing with Denmark and Slovenia.

Having a good old moan at your team on the telly is part and parcel of the beautiful game – and the Euros have been no exception. But what one woman said had her bloke absolutely gobsmacked.

In a TikTok video, revealed that she’d been earwigging on her fella during England’s 1-1 draw with Denmark, and decided to echo his words back to him a few days later as they watched the squad take on Slovenia, just to see how he’d react to her sudden footie wisdom.

As they were glued to the match, she dropped a casual comment: “I don’t know why Stones doesn’t step up, because that would make Declan Rice go forward.”

The reaction was priceless her man gawped at her like she’d just turned into Gareth Southgate overnight, before managing a stunned “Yeah..”

Other gems the woman threw out there included, “I don’t get why Kane’s dropping so far back, you need to run behind,” and “You need a left back with a left foot, because Trippier isn’t naturally left-footed is he?”

Her bloke was totally gobsmacked, asking where she was nicking her insights from, but when she said she’d “just listened”, he had to concede she was bang on the money with her punditry.

She then lobbed in another tactical nugget, saying: “I tell you what, in the second half they need to drop Foden in the 10 position. I like him there.” Her partner, still clueless about her sudden footie wisdom, agreed: “I like him there as well.”

The clip had folks howling with laughter online, with loads of them reckoning the man looked “secretly impressed”.

One user commented: “Shane looked proud and gobsmacked at the same time,” while another chimed in: “I think he just fell in love with you all over again.”

But one sharp-eyed viewer pointed out a right howler for the England team if the woman could parrot the exact same things her man moaned about during England’s last match. They penned: “When you realise that this means England played both games with exactly the SAME issues.”
