Brit children lacking overseas as Interpol’s Yellow Notice checklist has 11 underneath 19
The official police search for missing British teenager Jay Slater has ended after nearly two weeks – but there are still 11 youngsters out there being actively searched for.
Although the 19-year-old was not on the Interpol list, his search was – and to some still is – considered very high priority. But for those who are unable to identify themselves when missing, Interpol will issue yellow notices to help locate them, and many of them are often minors.
Currently, the list has 66 British nationals on the list in total, but of those, there are 11 who are aged 19 or under. And of those, more than half are actually aged under 10.

The youngest of those is seven-year-old Mohammaed Yaseen Safi, who disappeared in August 2020 at the age of just three, alongside brothers Bilal (now nine) and Mohammed Ebrar (now eight).
The trio are likely to have visited France, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and were reportedly taken at knifepoint from their foster mother – with police admitting a year later that they had no idea where they were.
It is thought that dad Imran Safi was the one who disappeared with them, and at the time Detective Chief Inspector Dan O’Sullivan said: “We were always some steps behind Safi and the children because of the planning he did. He was able to leave the UK by some clandestine means and we appeal for anyone with information to contact us.
“The children are still very young, and vulnerable. The family is from Kabul and they may possibly be in Afghanistan. We’ve liaised with our counterparts there, but found nothing. We are still concerned for their safety.”

She said, having flown out to Jordan to find them: “I feel I’m now out of this world. My brain is frozen. Syria is not a safe country. They must be absolutely petrified – I’m not leaving Jordan. Either I go back to the UK with my kids, or I’ll go to the grave.”
West Merica Police confirmed that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office were supporting the family.

He recalled, in 2023: “I was devastated. I was Rhian’s full-time carer from six weeks old and we did everything together. Rhian was very, very bright, funny, talkative, and knew how to wrap me round her little finger.
“We were inseparable. Above all Rhian was a very, very, very happy little girl. We enjoyed the simple things like shopping because for Rhian everything was an adventure.”
