‘Daniel Dubois confirmed his true colors in argument with Anthony Joshua’

Daniel Dubois showed no nerves when he went face to face with Anthony Joshua.

And I knew he wouldn’t because my man doesn’t flinch. Put a fight in front of him and he takes it. Look at his CV. How many 26-year-old boxing heavyweights have fought the names he has?

Joe Joyce, Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Oleksandr Usyk. Now he’s taking on former unified champion and Olympic golden boy Joshua on the biggest stage possible in the UK at Wembley Stadium.

This is all part of the game now for Dubois. The big event. He may not say loads but he lets his hands do the talking. They’ve been doing a lot of chatting lately.

Of course it almost came to blows on Wednesday as he went through some of the promotional content for the September 21 fight. The temperature was rising throughout a face-off interview and then Daniel offered Joshua for a fight there and then.

It surprised me but it just shows you how confident my man is. Joshua responded with a claim about throwing a chair in his face. Daniel didn’t blink.

He may have been a bright-eyed teenager when he first met Joshua at GB Boxing seven years ago. But he’s not in awe of the former world champion. He’s here as the champion, remember.

Daniel is now a bona fide world heavyweight champion. At just 26 after he silenced all those doubters who questioned him after the Joyce and Usyk defeats. I’ve backed him from the start and I knew he could get to this stage. Now he has the world at his feet.

When he beats Joshua, then he will be in the mix for even bigger fights. But he can choose what he wants to do if he knocks out the Watford man in front of more than 90,000 at the national stadium.

Usyk rematch, Tyson Fury for the undisputed title, or whatever he wants. Daniel will be among the elite after September 21.

And, at 26, he will be there for many years to come.
