Janet Jackson rocks the home in Hartford with 39-song set listing

Janet Jackson took the stage at the Xfinity Center in Hartford, Connecticut last night and rocked the house as only she can do.

The 58-year-old Rhythm Nation singer is currently on her much-anticipated Together Again Tour which sees her hitting 35 dates before it wraps up in Phoenix on July 30.

The Nasty songstress had several costume changes throughout the night as she made her way through her 39 song set.

At one point Janet – who took in Kylie Minogue‘s last concert of her Las Vegas residency – wore a long grey jacket over a white shirt and black tie. The shirt’s cuffs stuck out from the jacket’s sleeves which were covered in sequins near the wrists.

An outfit change saw the pop icon reemerge in a red plaid jumpsuit with a black corset-style, patent leather belt giving her waist more definition.

The Miss You Much singer is well known for her elaborate dance productions on tour and this tour is no different.

The 35 dates in 2024 are a follow up to her 2023 tour, which was the most successful of her career.

‘Hey u guys! By popular demand, we’re bringing the Together Again Tour back to North America this summer with special guest Nelly! It’ll be so much fun! Tickets go on sale Friday 1/19. We can’t wait to see you! #TogetherAgainTour,’ the pop star wrote on Instagram earlier this year.

Janet has four acts and an encore to her set and on Saturday night in Hartford, she ran through a selection of her hits including The Pleasure Principle, What Have You Done For Me Lately and Control in two hours and 17 minutes.

She covered songs off Control (1986), Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), janet (1993), Design of a Decade (1995), The Velvet Rope (1997), All for You (2001), Damita Jo (2004), 20 Y.O. (2006), Discipline (2008), Number Ones (2009), and Unbreakable (2015).

During a pre-recorded segment that played during the show the When I Think Of U hitmaker reflected on her 51-year career which started as the youngest child in the talented Jackson family.

‘I still feel just as excited today as I did all those years ago,’ she said.

When Janet broke into her hit Rhythm Nation, she performed the step and pop moves with all the energy, coordination and precision of the 23 year old she was when the song came out.

As Justin Timberlake – who famously tore off part of her shirt at the 2002 Super Bowl Halftime Show – struggles to shake off the chatter about his DWI, Janet proved she is forever the reigning queen of pop.

And in her music Saturday night, she brought her trademark socially conscious, grooving, sexy, danceable songs to the 30,000 seat arena.

Janet closed out her main set with a cover of her brother Michael Jackson‘s Scream and the crowd pleasing Rhythm Nation.

She took the stage for the encore, playing Someone to Call My Lover and Together Again.
