Alien-mad pop icon Kim Wilde is backing Britain’s sanest candidate Count Binface
Alien-mad pop icon Kim Wilde is backing Britain’s sanest candidate Count Binface in the general election.
The 63-year-old 1980s singing sensation – who has spent years obsessing over in extra-terrestrials after seeing one in her back garden – has declared the fact the Count is from outer space means he is an “option” for her vote. She also said she shared Binface’s long-held frustration with dopey Dave Cameron’s Brexit farce as it has caused trouble for her music tours.
Kim – who also admitted she is a swing voter – told the Daily Star ahead of Thursday’s vote: “I will be voting, absolutely. I’m not sure if I know what way I’ll be voting.

“I might be one of those ones they’re trying to win over, but I’ll definitely vote – that’s my privilege.
“I haven’t read too much about Binface, but now that I know that he has alien origins, he could be an option.”
Kim also said she loved living in a country where self-proclaimed intergalactic warriors with bins for heads could help topple the likes of Rishi ‘Biggles’ Sunak from power.
She added: “I’m glad we’re living in a democracy where we can do those things.
“There’s lots of places in the world where democracy is not accessible so people can’t, so I’m very grateful we still live in a country that gives us that choice.”
Binface has ridiculed the Brexit mess by saying: “There should be another referendum on whether there should be another referendum.”
Kim said about the impact of the Euro divorce on her and other touring musicians: “We have found ways around it. There have been some issues that needed sorting out, some complications from time to time, but luckily nothing we haven’t been able to overcome.”
The singer’s Binface backing may make him add her to his last-minute manifesto changes.
They last week included his pledge to nationalise Adele, 36, as he reckons she is a “creative powerhouse and a one-woman GDP boost”.
The self-described 5,702-year-old Recyclon has also pledged to fight “dimly-lit staircases” as they are the bane of his existence, bring back Ceefax and force anyone who dares use smartphone speakers on public transport to watch One Show boxsets as punishment.
The Kids In America singer Kim said she saw a massive glowing UFO hovering over her Hertfordshire home in 2009 – and is still in no doubt it was an alien spaceship.
It led Kim to start fearing aliens would beam her up and force her to perform to the alien overlords.
In 2018, she released her first new music since 1992, appropriately named Here Come The Aliens.
She said about her alien sighting: “There were a couple of massive lights just above the clouds, going backwards and forwards in an extraordinary way.
“Quite a lot of people witnessed them, it made the local papers.”
Kim sold 10 million albums and had a global chart hit with Kids In America in 1981 – and had a hit with the late Mel Smith in 1987 with their version of Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.
* Kim is touring the UK in March 2025 with support from Cutting Crew, with tickets now on sale.
