Victims of inmate ‘filmed having intercourse slam studies he WON’T face police

Victims of a prisoner who was filmed allegedly having sex with a female guard have slammed reports that he will not see further punishments, claiming ‘this is not what we thought it meant to get hard time in prison’.

Linton Weirich, 36, of West London, was seen in a clip filmed on a smuggled phone appearing to have sex with prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu at HMP Wandsworth.

The incident involving the prolific burglar, who is currently serving four years and nine months, led to police investigation with married De Sousa Abreu, 30, charged with misconduct in public office.

The con, who was jailed after he stole £65,000 worth of goods from a safe in a luxury Kensington flat, was put in segregation but is unlikely to face any further punishment and is not under police investigation.

One victim who was targeted by Weirich in January said: ‘I was aware of the video. I just didn’t know that was our burglar. The whole thing seems surreal. This is not what we thought it meant to get hard time in prison.

‘It sounds like the prison officer is the only one being punished, too.’

Weirich had broken into the woman’s home while she was having building works done but only managed to steal a few drills before being arrested.

Officers had caught him because of the ankle tag he was wearing, the woman explained adding:  ‘I don’t think he’s the sharpest tool in the box.’

Another one of his victims who said his bike was stolen by Weirich in December, told The Sun: ‘He’s definitely not the smartest cookie if he was just targeting all the people on his doorstep.

‘I can see why police managed to catch him. It’s hardly justice though if he’s having fun in prison.’

It comes as MailOnline revealed that Weirich’s partner is seven months pregnant and went into hospital after suffering from stress fearing she could go into premature labour.

A source close to her said: ‘This is the last thing she needs in her condition, it’s extremely upsetting. This stupid video has affected her health, she was hospitalised at the weekend through stress. She fears it will bring on premature labour.’

Weirich was jailed for four and a half years for burglary at a dwelling and theft on June 7 at Kingston Crown Court.

Photographs posted on his Instagram page show Weirich with the same arm tattoo as the man in the alleged X-rated video.

Six years ago, Weirich pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on the M6 at Stafford.

He also admitted assaulting a police officer with intent to resist arrest, driving without a licence and driving without insurance when he appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court in March, 2018.

Meanwhile, De Sousa Abreu, 30, who is married, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with misconduct in public office.

The prison officer was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Saturday before she could catch a flight to see relatives in Madrid, a court heard yesterday.

She was attempting to travel on a Portuguese passport, which was seized by the Metropolitan Police.

De Sousa Abreu appeared in court charged with misconduct in public office by ‘engaging in a sexual act with a prisoner in a prison cell.’

Wearing a custody-issue grey tracksuit, she spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.

Prosecuting Niamh McDonagh told the court: ‘Ms De Sousa Abreu was apprehended at Heathrow Airport where a flight had been booked for Madrid. I believe she has relatives living there.

‘A Portuguese passport was seized by police when she was apprehended. She is a Portuguese national with a Portuguese passport. ‘

Defending, Gayathri Yogarajah said De Sousa Abreu had notified HMP Wandsworth, telling them of her travel plans which was duly passed on to Scotland Yard.

She was granted conditional bail and will appear for a plea and case management hearing on July 29 at Isleworth Crown Court.

She must remain at an address in South West London given in court. Her Portuguese passport must remain with the police and she cannot make any attempt to retrieve it.

She is forbidden from applying or being in possession of international travel documents and she must hand over her Portuguese Identity card that she could travel on.

De Sousa Abreu is also forbidden to enter any UK port and must be electronically monitored between the hours of 9pm and 7am.
