Just hours left to solid YOUR vote: Public reveal how they’ve voted
Labour will win a landslide majority – but many aren’t happy – and several Gen-Zers admit they can’t recall the leaders of the main political parties including Rishi Sunak because they are ‘c**p’ at remembering names, a MailOnline poll of voters reveals today.
One student in Birmingham says she will vote Liberal Democrat because of the number of posters they have up in her area – and insists it may be a sign that the next prime minister could be Ed Davey.
Another first time voter said he has backed the Greens because he cares about the environment – and wants them to get rid of potholes – but has ‘no idea’ who will win overall or the names of the main party leaders.
Other young people admit they will vote for ‘anyone’, as long as it forces out a Tory – including Reform – but warned Sir Keir Starmer not to take Friday nights off if he becomes Prime Minister.
A pensioner in Newcastle has predicted that a Labour will win a landslide majority today – but she doesn’t ‘approve of it’.
And when asked who he would kiss, marry or avoid, an electrician from Birmingham voting Reform, told MailOnline today: ‘It’s got a be snog Nigel Farage, marry Rishi and avoid Keir Starmer. Well, we all know Sunak’s got the money, Farage is up for the bants. And, well, Keir Starmer, yeah, definitely not.’
These hot takes from the streets of England come after six weeks of fierce campaigning up and down the land.
The UK’s chosen government will be revealed by tomorrow morning. But ahead of the polls closing at 10pm tonight, MailOnline readers have revealed who they will be voting for and who they believe will win.
With just a few hours to go, some are still undecided – often because they don’t believe there is a party that truly represents them. One voter said there is more chance of England winning Euro 2024 – and football ‘coming home’ – than Britain having a government ‘that will actually make a difference’.
The majority of those polled by MailOnline have said they will be voting Labour today – but many admitted that they consider them ‘the best of a bad bunch’, although quite a few could not name the leaders of the main political parties.
Others also admitted they would vote Labour, even though they don’t particularly like or trust Sir Keir Starmer and his policies – mainly because they don’t believe the Tories ‘deserve’ to win this time.
And if Sir Keir does win today, MailOnline readers have warned him that he is taking on a 24/7 job, and should expect to work his Friday nights.
This is what voters revealed about who they will vote for, who they believe will win the 2024 general election, and even who they would snog, marry and avoid – with Nigel Farage featuring heavily.

Would you snog, marry or avoid Nigel Farage, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer?
‘Marry Starmer. Avoid Farage. Snog Rishi.’
Charlie, 30, electrician – REFORM
Who will you vote for?
‘I think it’d be for Reform. Purely because of the way the country is going, from what I can see and what I read, and I think that what he [Nigel Farage] talks about could be more beneficial towards my age group.’
Who will win?
‘I mean, if you look at the polls, I don’t know. I’m a bit sceptical. Part of me thinks it’s already written in stone, so I think Labour’s obviously up there and they’ve got a better chance than most.’
Can you name the leaders of the four major parties?
‘Definitely not.’
Could you give it a good go?
‘Keir Starmer, Labour, Nigel Farage, Reform. Rishi Sunak’s Conservatives… and that’s where it’s getting slim now.
Do you think the prime minister should have Friday nights off?
‘Definitely not; I don’t get Friday nights off.’
Would you snog, marry or avoid Nigel Farage, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer?

Who will you vote for?
‘Lib Dems, because of what they do for Newcastle.’
Who will win?
‘Labour. I certainly don’t approve of any of them, to be honest.’
Can you name the leaders of the main parties?
‘Sir Keir Starmer. What’s his name? Rishi Sunak. I can only think of the other one. It’s that Nigel Farage. No, definitely never vote for him.’
Do you think being a PM is a 24-hour, 7 days a week job?
‘He should have time off, or she should have time off. But if there’s an emergency or a disaster, then certainly it’s 24/7.’
Do you think the prime minister should have Friday nights off?
‘I know Keir Starmer has had a bit of criticism for saying that… but he should have time off. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be the same time, same place, same week.’
Niamh, 19 – student – LIB DEM OR LABOUR
Who will you vote for?
‘I’d ideally want to vote Labour, but in my area there’s loads of Lib Dem signs when there’s usually Tory, and I think anything’s better than the Tories. I’m gonna go for the tactical vote.’
Who will win?
‘I actually think the Lib Dems. I think they have quite a solid chance.’
Can you name the leaders of the main parties?
‘God no, I won’t even try.’
Do you think being a PM is a 24 hour, 7 days a week job?
‘No, I don’t think it is. I think there’s a set amount of hours, but I think everyone needs rest.

Do you think the prime minister should have Friday nights off?
‘Yeah. Everyone should get Friday night off.’
Would you snog, marry or avoid Nigel Farage, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer?

Any reason?
‘No, just a vibe!’
Alan Blenkley, 73, gas engineer – CONSERVATIVE
Who will you vote for?
‘Conservative.’
Who will win?

Who will win?
‘I honestly don’t follow it at all, never have.’
Can you name the leaders of the main parties?
‘No, no, no. Is it Keir Starmer, whatever his name is? For Labour, Rishi Sunak, that’s the main ones that I know – and the guy from Reform, Nigel Farage.’
Do you think being a PM is a 24 hour, 7 days a week job?
‘I hope so!’
Do you think the prime minister should have Friday nights off?
‘Well, if you have to. We’re all human at the end of the day, so aye, why not? Everyone likes their own time.’
John, 76, retired – CONSERVATIVES
Who will you be voting for?
‘[I will vote for the] Conservatives. Broadly I think they get the balance correct.’
Who will win?
‘Labour, I regret to say. I think the polls are exaggerating it. The result won’t be that catastrophic [for the Tories] – but it won’t be good for them either’.
Do you think being a PM is a 24 hour, 7 days a week job?
‘Yes, I think it is. In a way that is bad. Because that person doesn’t get the chance to step back a bit and see the bigger picture. It is one of the faults of the system.’
Do you think the prime minister should have Friday nights off?
‘I don’t know. I hope they do get a bit of a break to recharge the batteries.’
Would you snog, marry or avoid Nigel Farage, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer?

Who will win?
‘I think Labour will probably win.’
Can you name the leaders of the four major parties?
‘You’ve really put me on the spot. I know Rishi Sunak is the Conservatives and Keir Starmer is Labour obviously. And the Lib Dems is Ed Davey, but I’m not sure what I would call the fourth major party.’
Would you snog, marry or avoid Nigel Farage, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer?
‘I’m not comfortable answering that, sorry.’

Can you name the leaders of the main parties?
Keir Starmer, Labour. Rishi Sunak, Conservative, and then I don’t know anyone else.

Would you snog, marry or avoid Nigel Farage, Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer?
‘I’d snog Farage. Marry Starmer and avoid Sunak. Like I said, I don’t like Sunak. I don’t like any of them, to be honest. They’re all the same, t***ers. But, you know, that’s the country we live in.’
