England Euros star wore denims and cap to marriage ceremony – and ruined spouse’s £500k ring
Jordan Pickford is once again proving to be one of England’s most reliable players at Euro 2024.
While Gareth Southgate’s side have been dire going forward, their backline and goalkeeper Pickford have largely remained faultless. Now competing in his fourth major tournament as England’s No1, the Everton shot-stopper has put any debate over his position firmly to bed.
He has managed to keep two clean sheets in four games in Germany, surpassing Peter Shilton’s record by reaching an outstanding total of 11 clean sheets in major tournaments. And cheering him on at each game, including the narrow extra-time victory over Slovakia, has been his wife Megan.

Megan, 28, and Pickford, 30, have been together since they were teenagers at school. They married in March 2020 after they welcomed their son Arlo in February 2019.
Megan – who enjoys sharing her glamorous life on Instagram with her thousands of followers – is often seen wearing designer clothes and has even flown to matches in private jets. She first shared news of their engagement during the tense 2018 World Cup penalty shootout against Colombia, posting a picture of herself praying while sporting a huge rock on her finger.
When Arlo was born in February 2019, Pickford expressed his joy on social media by posting a photo of a babygrow with the words: “My daddy likes to… ‘Get the rave on'” and stating he was “over the moon” and “couldn’t be prouder”.

But Megan’s dream of a lavish wedding was dashed by the pandemic, forcing the couple to have a modest ceremony in 2020 with only Arlo and five others there. Pickford, ever the maverick, made his own thoughts clear by rocking up in a tracksuit, ripped jeans and a cap.
Meanwhile, Megan donned a blouse and white fur. They were finally able to have their desired wedding day in March 2022, flying out to the Maldives for a beach ceremony with their nearest and dearest.
She announced on Instagram in May 2020: “We’re getting married in the morning. Well we should have been! It’s all gone a bit Pete Tong, so here’s a throwback of us on our legal registry office day since there are bigger things going on in the world right now. You are worth the wait my love @jpickford1”.
But it wasn’t just Covid-19 that threw a spanner in the works for the childhood sweethearts. Just a month before Arlo’s birth, they faced another engagement mishap.
The ex-Sunderland shot-stopper forked out on a huge diamond ring, rumoured to be worth around £500,000. But Pickford then had to watch in horror as it got jammed on Megan’s finger after she suffered with water retention due to her pregnancy.
In a desperate plea, Megan rushed to Instagram to ask her fans for advice after washing up liquid, butter and ice had all failed to wriggle the ring off. And she revealed two hours later that the ring was cut off, saying: “We’ve been to the jewellers for the chop.
“Thanks so much everyone for the messages. I’ll try and reply once I have feeling back in my fingers.”
Their daughter, Ostara, was born in a far more smooth-sailing period in 2023. Jordan, Megan and their two children now live in a luxury £2.1million pad nestled in Cheshire’s posh ‘Golden Triangle’, which boasts a home cinema, a jacuzzi and a nursery.
