Jay Slater’s household hits again at TikTok sleuth who deserted search
Jay Slater’s family has criticised a TikTok star turned wannabe sleuth after he sensationally declared he hadn’t received a penny from the GoFundMe fundraiser.
Callum Fahim announced he will no longer be involved in the search for the missing 19-year-old, who mysteriously vanished after attending the three-day NRG Tenerife Weekender festival in Tenerife on June 17.
The influencer, who is in his twenties, say he hasn’t received ‘anything’ from the almost £50,000 raised by thousands of donators, including money for essentials.

“I’ve never had any money from them whatsoever or even offers to go and pick anything up,” he said, according to Sky News. “If they had offered it, personally I would’ve said maybe a bit of a treat at the end of the week, but don’t worry about it.”
Slater’s family responded to the loaded accusation, claiming Jay’s mum Debbie Duncan gave Fahim £740 of her own money for his accommodation.

They say relations with the TikToker, who ‘came out on his own accord’, turned ‘bitter’ after they refused to give him any more cash. “This is about Jay and he’s still missing and we’ve got people crying about money. It’s nothing to do with money,” the family added.

“We’re not sat here doing nothing. We’re doing everything we possibly can to find Jay. We can’t go off down hills climbing on our own,” they said. We wouldn’t like to be responsible for anyone hurting themselves.”
They described Fahim as a ‘hiker’ who wanted a ‘free holiday’ – before stating: “We don’t need hikers, we need experts,” they said.

The latest development in the case comes as Jay’s pal Lucy Mae broke her silence after uploading a selfie of her and Jay with a crying emoji. It is believed Jay messaged Lucy on the morning he disappeared, saying he was lost, in need of water, and that his phone was about to die.
