Randy bugs are mattress hopping into our breakfast cereals and our ciggies

Experts warn insects are living and breeding in our breakfast cereals.

Tiny beetles, moths and weevils nest in dry products including cereals, rice, bread, biscuits and even ciggies.

Natalie Bungay, from the British Pest Control Association warned householders to act quickly if they see a moth or beetle in their food cupboard.

She said infestations often take place in forgotten foods at the back of shelves.

Natalie urged: “Throw away infected products – preferably into an outside bin – and give storage areas a deep clean.”

Two legs on each one have a coating that attracts the irritating insects. When a bed bug climbs up one of the “smart” legs it falls into a trap.

Martim Gois, boss of its inventor Valpas, warned: “Nearly every infestation at home comes after a night in a hotel or rental bed.”
