‘We’re not ashamed to spend tens of millions on our youngsters – lazy mother and father are jealous’

Meet the couple who are unashamed about how much money they splash on their children.

Parents Barrie and Scott Drewitt-Barlow say “jealous” folks should “get off their a***e” if they fancy treating their own family.

The couple, who both hail from council estate backgrounds, are delight to fork out loads of cash and pamper their children – whether it’s swanky motors, cosmetic touch-ups, posh getaways, or even snapping up houses for them, there’s no cap on their spending.

The proud parents have recently knocked up a mansion in the lush Essex countryside and dropped £9million on turning it into their dream gaff with an underfloor aquarium, stables, a car showroom, a swimming pool, and a sauna. “You name it, we’ve got it,” boasted Barrie. They recently shared a look inside their new home on YouTube’s Truly TV, which boasts over 10million subscribers.

Together Scott and Barrie are dads to three-year-old Valentia and two-year-old Romeo. Plus, loaded businessman Barrie has six more children from a previous relationship – Colin, 35, Aspen and Saffron, 25, Orlando, 20, as well as Jasper and Dallas, aged 15. Barrie and his former hubby Tony, who were an item for 11 years, hit the headlines as the UK’s first gay couple to have babies via surrogacy.

Back in 1999, Barrie and his ex went down in history by becoming the first same-sex couple on a birth certificate as ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two’ after having twins Saffron and Aspen via surrogate in California. With an impressive £200 million in the bank from their business empires, the lads could splash out on their children from day one,

Stepdad and dad-of-two Scott wasn’t about to skimp on the good life either when he joined the family, and together they’ve been living it large, despite getting stick for supposedly spoiling their brood.

Barrie said: “We like to share what we have got with other people. We are so used to it now and our kids are used to it. I grew up on a council estate and so did Scott so every day we are like ‘holy c**p’ this is our house.”

He went on: “When you grew up on a council estate you just want to get out of it, so that’s what we did. I am a great believer in you get out of things what you put into them. Work hard, you earn a lot of money – what can I say.”

Adding a dash of sentiment, Barrie remarked: “We have a lot of love for our kids, but we just like to buy them nice things as well, just like you would do if you could afford to do it.”

Scott chimed in: “Anyone that comes your way and say: ‘oh you’re just spoiling them’, they would do exactly the same it’s just they didn’t get off their a*** and actually do anything about their life… it’s just pure jealousy.”

Recently, the older kids jetted over from the States for a visit. Upon their arrival, Aspen and his wife Pim were gobsmacked to find they’d been gifted a car each as a wedding present. Pim “got the best of everything” with her Rolls Royce.

However, Aspen seemed a bit miffed after receiving an Audi R8, commenting it was “a bit small”. “I think the Roylce Royce is better,” he told his dad. Barrie labelled him “ungrateful”, but after hearing the engine, it seemed his son quite fancied the car.

This isn’t the first time the dad has seen his children disappointed with one of his gifts; earlier this year, he revealed on his Instagram page that he gifted one of his twins, Saffron, a Mercedes GLE coupe worth £232,000. This followed her writing off a Range Rover and another car, according to The Sun.

However, the new coupe wasn’t what her dad initially gifted Saffron; the 24 year old, who previously received £5,000 pocket money a month, also turned her nose up at a £100,00 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53. “The minute she saw it she hated it,” Barrie said on an episode of Channel 5’s Rich House Poor House. “I literally don’t know what more we can do to make the girl happy.”

The dad isn’t deterred from splurging on his children, as he told Truly TV that he’s raised them to be “successful in their own right”. He added: “If I want to spend my money on my kids, by Christ I’m going to do it.

“At the end of the day if you can afford to buy your kids something, you’re going to do it.”

The dads are overjoyed at becoming grandparents for the second time as their daughter Saffron is expecting her second child.
