British lady rescued after resort blaze close to Jay Slater Tenerife search web site
A British girl has been rescued from an apartment fire in Tenerife near the search site for Jay Slater.
The two-year-old was taken to hospital after the blaze took hold at a fifth-floor apartment in Costa Adeje on Wednesday night. The aparthotel is in the San Eugenio area of Las Americas in the south of the island – near where Jay was staying with friends before he went missing.
The 19-year-old vanished after leaving a rave with two men to party at their remote Airbnb. Two men, aged 38 and 54, and a 60-year-old woman were also hospitalised after the fire in the popular resort area. Three other people were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Firefighters responded quickly after receiving the alert and put out the fire, reports Canarian Weekly. The fire is believed to have originated from a refrigerator inside the apartment.
Jay, an apprentice bricklayer from Lancashire, vanished more than three weeks ago while on holiday on the Spanish island of Tenerife for a festival with pals. It has prompted a massive search by Spanish authorities, Jay’s family and friends, volunteers and an army of internet detectives.
The 19-year-old was invited back to an Airbnb near the secluded village of Masca in the early hours of June 17. His last known location was half a mile north of the village.
