England’s players left their Blankenhain basecamp for the last time on Saturday as Harry Kane and Co headed towards Berlin.

The Three Lions had been staying at Blankenhain’s Weimarer Land Spa & Golf Resort since before Euro 2024 kicked off one month ago.

But with only one game to go, Gareth Southgate‘s side checked out on Saturday before heading to some alternative accommodation closer to the German capital.

England’s players will likely receive a heroes’ welcome when they return to the UK on Monday morning – especially if they beat Spain in Sunday’s final.

Similarly, they were given a heroes’ send-off as they left Blankenhain, with hotel staff lining up to applaud the likes of Kane, Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka are they made their way onto the team bus.

England’s players appeared to be in good spirits as they boarded the bus.

Saka and Luke Shaw were both pictured waving at the gathered staff, while Kane and Bellingham both smiled warmly.

England will go into the final as underdogs against Spain – who have scored six goals more en route to Sunday’s showpiece.

But England will be hopeful that it will be they who are celebrating come the final whistle at the Olympiastadion.

There was a modest celebration during Saturday’s training session before the team left Blankenhain.  It was for defender Marc Guehi on his 24th birthday.

Guehi was also serenaded by a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday to You’ by hotel staff upon his departure.

Crystal Palace centre back Guehi recently received praise from team-mate Phil Foden via England’s YouTube channel.

‘He has been a leader,’ said Foden. I know him well from obviously playing with him and he’s not fazed by anything.

‘I feel like he has come into the team and shown his qualities.’
