King Felipe and Infanta Sofia cheer on Spain at Euros remaining

King Felipe of Spain and his daughter Sofia have shown support for their country as they attended the Euros final in Germany

The monarch, 56, looked in high spirits as he arrived at the German stadium this evening to cheer on his country as they go head-to-head with England to be crowned champions.

Felipe donned a bright cherry-coloured tie to coincide with Spain‘s football uniform, which is both red and yellow.

He looked dapper in a navy blue suit, crisp white shirt and colourful tie as he took his seat in the stands alongside Sofia.

The young royal, 17, also donned bright crimson-coloured smart trousers and a simple, yet sophisticated, white blouse.

The father and daughter duo beamed as they linked up and met with Prince William and his son, Prince George.

The royal foursome shook hands as met with each each other in the same viewing area, with Felipe and William chatting about the match unfolding in front of them.

William and George – who is second in line to the throne – were also putting on a sartorial display as they wore matching striped ties that were the colours of the England national football kit, white and red.

The official Spanish Royal Family website shared a snap of them together, along with Aleksander Ceferin president of UEFA and wrote: ‘The King and Infanta Sofía, along with the Prince of Wales and Prince George, in the final match of UEFA EURO 2024 between the Spanish and English teams.’

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ official X account then reposted the image and wrote: ‘May the best team win,’ along with the English and Spanish flag emojis.

King Charles also showed his support for England via a statement which said: ‘My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship – and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.

‘If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last minute wonder-goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation’s collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated!

‘Good luck, England.’

Newly elected Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer was also in attendance with his wife. The Labour leader wrote: ‘Made it to Berlin,’ as he was snapped in the stands donning a red tie.

Felipe was not joined by his wife, Queen Letizia for the event, amid rumours swirling around about the couple’s relationship.

The latest bombshell claims from Letizia’s former brother-in-law Jaime Del Burgo, who earlier this year suggested they had an ‘affair’ after her marriage to the King.

The businessman – who dated the Queen when she was still a newsreader and was married to her sister Telma from 2012-2014 – has since claimed that he is still in contact with the royal in an interview with Argentinian newspaper Clarín.

He said: ‘We have shared many years of our lives together. We have been a family. s I have always said, ours was not a relationship of lovers. The lover would be him, in any case. I mean Felipe.’

But Letizia and Felipe have made no public response to the claims.

King Felipe’s eldest daughter and heir to the Spanish throne, Princess Leonor of Spain, was not in attendance as she recently travelled to Portugal on her first official solo visit abroad.

The royal, 18, stuck with what she knew and took style inspiration from her mother, Queen Letizia – who often sports eye-catching, vibrant ensembles.

The heir to the Spanish throne donned a ruby outfit consisting of a crisp button-up blazer and matching flared trousers

Not wanting to draw attention away from her bold fashion statement, Leonor stepped out in satin nude heels and wore a simple white t-shirt underneath her jacket.

The future Queen looked in high spirits for her first official trip away by herself as she was snapped getting into the private jet with a huge smile on her face.

She flew to Lisbon and was received by the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, at Belém Palace.

He presented her with one of the country’s highest decorations after inviting her to visit the country.

According to the official Spanish Royal Family website, the visit had a particular focus on environmental protection and ocean conservation.
