Asda launch ‘grocery store first’ booze tastings – and it is 2000ft within the air
Asda will be launching some very special booze testing in what is being called a ‘supermarket first’ – but you’ll have to be quick.
The much-loved store have been busy at work to get their award-winning wines the lift of they truly deserve. So, Asda have quite literally decided to let some lucky customers to taste some handpicked alcohol up in the sky.
Next week, a handful of Asda shoppers will get to experience a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ of wine-tasting while 2000ft in the air.

To celebrate the Wine Atlas range, the supermarket have launched ‘Wine Flights’ – a tasting that will take place in a hot air balloon above the British countryside, taking off from a fancy estate in Bristol.

Each hour-long flight comes complete with an in-flight wine expert. Passengers will get to taste the six new Wine Atlas wines, enjoy some nibbles, and take in the stunning scenery.
Although, the tastings up in the air will only be available for the 24th and 25th of July – so you’ll need to be extra lucky to get picked for the limited experience.
Asda say that the Wine Atlas range is all about ‘discovery’ as it highlights lesser-known wine-growing regions, all while broadening shoppers’ boozy horizons.
The wines to be tasted on the flight include a ‘citrus, peach and orange-blossom’ fuelled Carricante (£6.50) from Sicily’s volcanic slopes, a Decanter World Wine Awards Bronze Winner 2024 and IWC 2024 Silver winner.

Also, there’s a a fuller-bodied Monastrell Rosé (£6.50) from southeast Spain – a Decanter World Wine Awards Bronze Winner 2024 and IWSC Bronze Medal Winner 20240.
But, drinking the fruits of Spain might leave some England fans a little triggered over the summer. Though there’s plenty more wines from non-Euros winning countries to sip.
Cheap booze and amazing views, what more could you want from a British summer? Well, good weather.
So if you’re willing to risk the rain, shoppers who fancy winning a spot can register on Asda’s website and have until Thursday 18th July to do so. The winners will be chosen by ballot on Friday 19th July.
