Foodies threaten to ‘name the police’ as man exhibits how he reduce his bacon sandwich
A bacon sandwich left social media users in stitches – with many claiming a ‘blindfolded five-year-old’ could do better.
The image of the poorly cut butty was shared on the Rate My Plate page on Facebook, where users critique dishes from across the nation. This particular meal, courtesy of Sam, failed to impress.
Instead of the usual praise lavished on full roast dinners or classic pub grub, this meal was met with ridicule and labelled “ragebait” by one user. The sandwich attracted hundreds of laugh reactions and dozens of comments criticising it, making it clear that Sam’s dish wasn’t a hit with the Rate My Plate followers.

Many users questioned the cutting technique of the sandwich, as the usual triangle or halved slices were nowhere to be seen. Instead, the sandwich was haphazardly cut into five misshapen segments. One user wrote: “Ah! Sam has a black belt in chopping sandwiches I see [sic].”
Another chimed in: “That’s it I’m ringing the police for the way you cut that sandwich.” A third joked: “Did they just loosen the straight jacket enough for you to cut the sandwich then tighten it back up.”
Even children can do a better job as one said: “Jesus my five-year-old could do better blindfolded.” However, some defended Sam, claiming the erratic slicing method was actually a wonderful way to enjoy the sandwich.
One person suggested: “Honestly try it, it makes you feel like you’ve got more out of you sandwich. Instead of straight down middle I do 2 cuts to make 3 triangles of bread.”
Another commented: “Love the cutting of the butty – which gives an interesting way to choose which cut to pick and savour – 10/10 for ‘sassy’ cutting!”
A third remarked: “4.5/10. Poor showing of actual bacon filling, bad lighting so none of us are sure if that’s a ‘splodge’ of ketchup atop your sandwich, but + 2.4 points for an interesting geographical ‘Pablo Picasso’ sandwich cut… so 6.9/10.”
