‘I’m an age-defying mum – individuals nonetheless ID me and lads half my age chat me up’
An age-defying mum admitted that she’s often mistaken for being a lot younger – and is regularly hit on by lads half her age.
Jessica Jerrard, a former model from Leeds, West Yorkshire, is frequently asked for ID when buying wine and has even been approached by men as young as 25 on nights out.
The mum, who is 40 years old, credits her fresh-faced appearance to a good skincare routine and regular exercise.

She used to use lip fillers but claims her skin improved after she stopped and started using Tretinoin face cream instead.
The cyber security worker and mother of two said: “If I’m at Tesco buying some wine or a vape I sometimes get ID’d. I’ve had it in the last five years – it is nice when you do. 25 was the youngest I’ve had someone hit on me, that was a little too young!
“I don’t feel 40 at all. When I was younger I thought 40 was really old. It does feel good but also it’s a pressure to keep it up.”
In addition to her skincare routine, Jessica regularly lifts weights which she believes helps maintain her youthful looks. The former FHM and Loaded model says people often get “freaked out” when she reveals her real age.
Jessica also has a partner who is seven years her junior – and even he couldn’t believe her age when she first told him. She added: “People are often saying they can’t believe I’m 40 and they think I’m 10 or 15 years younger.
“My partner is 33 and he couldn’t believe it when I told him I was 40.
“My kids are still young so I don’t get sister comparisons but on work nights out people just assume I’m the same age as my colleagues and they get a bit freaked out when I reveal how old I am.
“I think my eldest knows I’m sort of different to a lot of the other mums at school but then saying that when I’m on the school run I don’t make much effort, I just roll out of bed.”
The youthful beauty used to be a fan of the uber glamorous look and would often pursue ‘tweakments’. Jessica admits she used to be a regular user of tanning beds and lip fillers, but eventually lost sight of their effects.
Before she packed in her trips to the aesthetician, Jessica would get her lips filled on a monthly basis and felt like she was getting ‘addicted’ to the look.
The filler started to migrate to different areas of her face which ultimately pushed her to stop getting fillers and embrace her natural self.
Since then, Jessica says she feels and looks a lot more youthful.
She revealed: “In the last five years or so since I’ve started having fewer fillers, I think I’ve started to look younger – which is almost the opposite reason as to why you’re getting fillers.
“When lip fillers started getting popular 15 years ago, I think it was about getting bigger lips and you want more and more but I think it just does make you look older.
“I don’t know if it’s overfilling, I’m not sure. I used to get my lips done nearly every month and because you’re seeing it every day it’s like an addiction and then it migrates to other areas of the face.
“It’s not what I recommend.
“I’ve been putting more of my investment in skin care in facials and that’s been great – It is something that I want to maintain.”
