This is the moment the most brazen of seagulls scopes out the aisles of a supermarket and swoops down to claim his tasty prize.

While many British retailers are grappling with a surge in shoplifting, one budget store chain in north Wales has a feathered thief eating into its profits.

The pesky bird is said to have been spotted several times by locals eyeing up the items at home store B&M in Mostyn Champneys Retail Park, Llandudno, north Wales.

Bemused customer Ethan Denton caught the peckish seagull – nicknamed Steven after a play on words of Hollywood actor Steven Seagal’s name – stealing his latest booty on video.

The footage begins with the bird eating away at a cracker, before flying off to the rafters, prompting the customer to laugh and describe the bird as ‘ruthless’.

Seconds later the bird is back, pecking away at packets of biscuits while having a good look around.

The DJ and music producer, 34, told What’s The Jam: ‘I walked into the shop as I often go there for drinks and stuff.

‘I then turned the corner and the seagull was just walking about eating different things.

‘The seagull stayed in the shop.

‘The second time I went in, I saw the bird in the exact same place. It was so weird, the same aisle and everything.

‘I quickly videoed it again, this time the seagull flew up onto the lighting.

‘It then proceeded to poop, it was so funny.

‘No one batted an eyelid. I’m not sure if they knew it was there or if he’s just extra friendly with me.

‘In Llandudno they are known for robbing your food and just generally being a bit of a pest, so I’m not the biggest fan  – but Stephen is a legend.’
