National Lottery app down as gamers blocked from accounts and might’t purchase tickets

The National Lottery app has crashed across the UK, leaving scores of wannabe millionaires unable to access results of buy tickets.

App users are getting slapped with a message that reads: “PLEASE BEAR WITH US. Out online services are temporarily unavailable. Sorry about that – we’ll get you back in the game as soon as possible. The National Lottery Team.”

Outage website DownDetector, first saw complaints come in at around 8pm yesterday evening, Friday, July 19, after last night’s Euro Millions result was announced.

There are now more than 2,800 complaints that the Lottery is offline, which spells bad news for Brits wanting to enter into tonight’s draw.

Lottery fans have now rushed to X to vent their frustration.

One player called Darren posted, “Got an email from The National Lottery saying I’ve won a prize, can’t see how much because the app and website are down.”

And another called Jash asked, “The National Lottery website is down, is the Saturday lotto draw still going to happen anyway if a ticket was purchased from a shop?”

It’s unclear what sparked the app to crash, however it comes as a global IT crisis struck and millions of PCs were taken offline yesterday due to the CrowdStrike bug.

Supermarkets, airlines and banks were brought to their knees as a mass outage, triggered by a security update, caused PCs to suffer the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.
