Ex On The Beach star cleared of getting indecent pictures of a kid
A former reality TV star has been cleared of child porn charges after the case against him was dropped at the 11th hour.
James Moore, 33, who appeared in series four of Ex On The Beach, was due to stand trial at Burnley Crown Court last week accused of possessing indecent images of a child and distributing an indecent photograph of a child.
The charges related to two previous trials, in February 2022 and March this year, when Moore was cleared of rape, assault, controlling and coercive behaviour, plus revenge porn and possessing an extreme pornographic image.
But – at a short hearing on Monday last week – the Crown Prosecution Service announced it was offering no evidence and the charges – three of possession and one of distributing an indecent image of a child – were dismissed.
A spokesman for the CPS said: ‘A jury found the defendant not guilty after he was charged with serious offences including rape and coercive controlling behaviour.

‘We took the decision not to prosecute a number of other offences after important circumstances were established during the trial which significantly impacted our chance of securing a conviction.
‘We encourage anyone who feels they have been the victim of crime to report it to the police.’
In March, Moore was cleared of repeatedly raping a teenage girl, assaulting her and using coercive behaviour following a trial at Preston Crown Court.
He was accused of installing a camera to ‘keep an eye on’ the teen and videos shown to the jury revealed her screaming and crying, while the star swore and shouted at her.
Other footage showed Moore, who is known as Jimmy, holding a hammer over the girl’s car to ‘get a response out of her.’
The prosecution claimed Moore raped the girl on ‘no fewer than 10 occasions’ and attacked her three times, between June 2019 and May 2021.
He was accused of punching the teenager in the face and breaking her nose, before dragging her and catching her leg in a doorway, and pushing her so her head hit the floor.
Moore, of Blackpool, denied the charges and told the trial he was a recovering cocaine addict. He said he no longer touched alcohol or drugs following a spate in rehab and was a ‘completely different person.’
He said the teenager had mentally abused him and was cleared of all the charges.
In February 2022, Moore was also found not guilty of posting of a revenge video of an ex-lover to the adult website Pornhub.
He claimed he only shared the tape, of the woman performing a sex act on him, to his Only Fans’ profile with her consent and had no idea how it ended up on Pornhub as well.
‘At the time she said, “you can put it on as long as you share the profit with me”,’ he told Preston Crown Court.
Moore said he took the sex tape down as soon as he learned the woman was unhappy, adding: ‘I’m a respectful guy.’
The joiner has a previous conviction for assaulting a friend whom he battered after finding his then girlfriend in his spare room, in June 2020.
Blackpool magistrates court heard Moore had been playing drinking games before rowing with the woman, who went home with the friend and his partner.
Moore then turned up at the property demanding to know why his girlfriend was there and, when asked to leave, started attacking the victim.

Magistrates spared him jail after hearing he was seeking help for his temper, drinking and mental health issues. He was ordered to pay £714 in costs and fines.
Moore appeared on the fourth series of MTV’s Ex on the Beach in 2016, which was filmed in Portugal.
The show sees contestants beginning new relationships before they are interrupted by their ex-partners and has featured high profile reality TV stars, such as TOWIE’S Joey Essex and Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison, in other series.
In 2019, however, the tenth series of the show was cancelled following the suicide of cast member Mike Thalassitis, 26.
Thalassitis, who had also appeared on Love Island, was found hanged in a park in Enfield, North London, with cocaine and alcohol found in his system.
Since then, the show has aired in a celebrity-only format, and Thalassitis’ death prompted bosses on other romance reality shows to overhaul the aftercare they give to contestants, helping them with everything from social media to mental health.
