Man minimize in half by forklift to get ‘bionic limb’ as his spouse goes to ‘remedy’
A man who suffered life-changing injuries after a horrific workplace accident has confirmed he will receive a “bionic arm”.
In 2019 Loren Schauers had a forklift fall on him from 50ft, losing both his legs and half of his right arm. After miraculously pulling through, he has continued to amaze people with his resilience to not let his injuries hinder his life.
Hailing from Great Falls, Montana, Loren and his wife Sabia Reiche now chronicle their daily lives on social media. Yesterday (July 21), the pair took part in a live Q&A on YouTube where fans could ask them questions.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
At the start of the session, Loren confirmed to his audience that “the bionic arm is happening.” In February 2021, the couple launched a fundraising campaign so that Loren could receive this prosthetic limb, which would be able to “restore full sense of touch, full movement of finger tips and even 45 lbs.”
The “game changing” new limb is now “definitely happening” according to Loren, who looks set to continue his remarkable journey through life post-accident.
His wife Sabia said: “Pretty much it’s happening and they’re still in their beta-testing period, which means it’s not ready for the public yet. But we can go down to California where the facility is, so that Loren can test out their workshops.”
Elsewhere during the Q&A, Sabia was asked by fan how she is “prioritising her self-care?”
“I go to therapy, I read a lot of books and I watch a lot of TV,” she said. “That’s kind of like my ‘me-time’ I guess. I do therapy every two weeks and when Loren’s other caregiver is here I get my own time for my job and have time to myself separate of everything here.
“Whenever I’m overwhelmed or stressed I just watch TV. Make sure I’m eating well, but not too much goes into it. Therapy and distractions!”
Earlier this year, Loren opened up about his sex life, admitting living without sexual organs isn’t all bad during a candid hospital bed interview.
Loren explained the lack of genitalia has removed his “troublesome” wandering eye.
“I’m not trying to impress anyone. I didn’t even think about it but yeah it’s pretty freeing now that I don’t have sexual thoughts of this girl over here, or impressing that girl over there like before,” he said. “I’m just me, I’m in my zone. It helps me stay out of trouble.”
