Wanted – vegetarians solely! One bed room residence the place NO meat allowed

A one-bedroom apartment has caused controversy after it was listed to rent with a strict vegetarian-only policy.

The flat, on Kenton Lane, London is being advertised for £1,450 per month but potential renters must have a meat-free diet.

The Harrow property has a fully-fitted kitchen, spacious lounge and on street parking – but is not furnished.

No reason for the peculiar dietary conditions was given – although there is speculation online this could be due to the fridge freezer being located in the living area, rather than the kitchen.

‘This is a brand new contemporary double bedroom apartment with fitted wardrobe,’ reads its Rightmove Listing.

‘The house has a separate modern, fully fitted kitchen with all appliances available.

‘It also has a spacious lounge and a stylish shower suite.

‘The apartment is situated within easy access to Kenton (Bakerloo Line) & Northwick Park (Met Line) Stations, Sainsbury’s supermarket and all other local transport and amenities.

‘Other benefits include double glazing, gas central heating and on-street parking.’

The apartment has been criticised on social media for its ‘weird’ and ‘unenforceable’ demand.

One Reddit user said: ‘Wow. How are they going to monitor that? I’m vegetarian, but I’d not tolerate them checking up on me. Plus, another fridge in the sitting room. Is this the new fashion?’

Another said: ‘Sainsbury’s supermarket nearby, but don’t you dare buy any lamb chops from there.’

Others speculated: ‘Maybe they’re just really scared of grease fires’ and ‘Bet the landlord has had plenty of beef with the listing.’

But one user was so annoyed at the restrictions, they said: ‘I want to rent it, just so I can have the mother or all BBQs in the lounge.’

The flat measures up to be almost 500 square feet with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area.

As well as the modern kitchen, the bathroom is also fully fitted with a bath and shower unit.

There is a fitted wardrobe in the bedroom and large windows in all four rooms.
