Former Victoria’s Secret mannequin seems unrecognizable in new shoot

A former Victoria’s Secret model looked completely unrecognizable as she posed for Harper’s Bazaar. 

The publication’s latest issue featured a slew of top fashionistas and catwalk queens modeling some of the ‘fall’s best clothes,’ including Irina Shayk, Precious Lee, and Alva Claire.

But one star showcased a brand-new appearance during the photoshoot.

It’s 36-year-old Puerto-Rican model Joan Smalls, who was photographed sporting a totally different look than her fans are used to.

The Puerto-Rican model, 36, sported a new hairstyle and bleached her eyebrows for the photoshoot, leaving her looking totally different than her fans are used to

Instead of her usual long, flowing locks, she rocked a short spikey bob and blunt bangs. She’s seen left during the shoot and right in 2022

She donned a floor-length Fendi silk brown gown and matching arm warmers in one of the images.

She completed the look with similarly colored Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello slingbacks and a knit top that she draped around her neck.

Joan stared seductively towards the camera as she sat on a big chunk of wood. 

A second snap showed her standing in a black Giorgio Armani gown and Christian Louboutin flats.

The black-and-white shot featured the model wrapping her arms around her chest and looking down with a sad expression on her face. 

Joan launched her modeling career in 2007 and posed for a slew of big brands including Nordstrom, Givenchy, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Burberry, Moschino, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang, Versace, Balenciaga, and Louis Vuitton, to name a few, in her early years.

In 2010, she began modeling for Victoria’s Secret and stomped the runway in the brand’s famous fashion show many times.

Many of the women spoke to the outlet about performing, like Precious Lee, who said: ‘From a really early age, I just knew my body, knew myself’

Many of the women spoke to the outlet about performing. 

‘It is important for me to channel all of the positive energy in the universe,’ Joan said.

‘Onstage, it’s like I have full control, full autonomy,’ actor and comedian Patti added. ‘It’s like instant gratification or instant confirmation or instant rejection.’

Precious shared, ‘My childhood home was full of mirrors – mirrored walls and furniture – and I learned a lot about expression in that environment. From a really early age, I just knew my body, knew myself.’
