Team USA athletes have been gifted ‘$13k in clothes and presents EACH’
Team USA athletes have each been gifted nearly $13,000 in clothing and gifts, it has been revealed.
The Americans arrived in style for the opening ceremony, with Ralph Lauren supplying their outfits, while SKIMS has also launched an Olympics collection.
And after athletes such as swimmer Mariah Denigan showed off the free items they’d received on social media, an analysis from the New York Post is able to show just how much the 591 athletes have gotten.
The staggering scope of the free ‘swag’ shows that each athlete received about $12,600 in items, the publication reported.
The most expensive item that athletes were gifted were the opening and closing ceremony blazers from Ralph Lauren, which go for a whopping $998 each.

And swimmer Mariah Denigan showed off the free ‘swag’ that Team USA athletes receive
The company also gave athletes a $498 satin bomber jacket and a $398 sweater, the Post said, with each athlete receiving a ridiculous $8,000 in gifts from the iconic brand.
Each athlete also received around 20 items totaling $1,750 from Team USA, 34 gifts from Nike worth roughly $2,250 and 11 pieces from Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand at an estimated $600.
The gifts from Team USA also included Oakley sunglasses, slides and a watch from the brand Hamilton.
On Friday, flag bearers LeBron James and Coco Gauff looked stylish in white Ralph Lauren blazers as Team USA rode on the Seine during the opening ceremony.
The rest of the Team USA athletes were dressed in blue blazers, with the athletes completing the look with denim on the bottom.

SKIMS has also collaborated with Team USA for these Olympics, with the likes of Suni Lee and Gabby Thomas modeling the brand’s collection for the games.
Kardashian shared pictures of several Team USA athletes modelling the clothes on her Instagram page, and also shared a video of the photoshoot.
‘I love competing with other athletes and for my country,’ Lee began, as Long described the ‘sacrifice, the tears, and the excitement.’
‘Team USA, to me, represents strength, confidence and work ethic,’ Thomas chimed in, as Dressell called the Games a ‘surreal emotional moment.’
