Yorkshire Police race to ‘severe incident’ involving gentle plane
Police have raced to the scene of a ‘serious incident’ involving a light aircraft in North Yorkshire.
Officers, fire crews, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and paramedics were called to the village of Thorganby between Selby and York at around 9.50am.
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured as there are no further details about the incident.
Images from the scene show police cars and vans remaining parked along the side of a country road.
The road near the incident has been sealed off by police, and everyone is being turned back by an officer close to the tape.

A Yorkshire Air Ambulance left the scene at 11.30am and members of the coastguard were also there, according to reports.

A statement from the force said: ‘We are currently dealing with an incident involving a light aircraft at a rural location near Selby, which was reported at around 9.50am today.
‘We remain on the scene along with other emergency services and further updates will follow.’
