Warhammer maker Games Workshop is in the final stages of bringing its figurines to the big screen.

The board game retailer entered into an agreement with Amazon Content Services – first announced in December last year – to create a series of films and television programmes based in the Warhammer universe.

Games Workshop has until December to agree on creative guidelines for the project.

‘The agreement will only proceed if the creative guidelines are mutually agreed between Games Workshop and Amazon,’ said a Games Workshop spokesman.

The FTSE 250 company’s pre-tax profits surpassed £200million, up 18.9 per cent year-on-year to £203million from £170.6million.

This allowed the business to increase the share of its profits it distributed to its staff to £18million, from £11million last year. Games Workshop shares rose 1.4 per cent.
