Horrific XL Bully and Pitbull team-up sees pet cat savaged on driveway
CCTV footage captured the moment an XL Bully and a Pitbull teamed-up to viciously attack a pet cat on a family’s driveway.
Mum-of-three Sarah Hewson, 47, was left horrified when she watched back the recording after their ‘beautiful’ cat named Mog went missing on July 20.
The disturbing video shows the cat sitting outside the family home in Rubery, Birmingham, before he was set upon by one of the hounds at around 6.15am.
Mog can be seen being dragged to the edge of the pathway ‘like a toy’ before the second snarling mutt joins in the savage attack sinking its jaws into his stomach.
Incredibly, the injured animal managed to escape and survived the vicious mauling – but Sarah and her family have now been left facing vet bills of at least £3,000.

Sarah found Mog two days later cowering in a little wooden house in their garden having ‘dragged himself’ back home despite horrendous injuries.
West Mercia Police and the RSPCA are now investigating the attack after Mog suffered multiple puncture wounds and serious damage to his liver.
Housewife Sarah said: ‘It was absolutely horrendous. I fed Mog as I normally do most mornings when he comes to the back door and then he goes wandering about.
‘At the time he was just sitting on the driveway when a woman comes along with one dog off the lead and another on a lead.
‘The first dog comes around the side of the wall like a flash and Mog didn’t really stand a chance as it happened so quickly.
‘It was horrible to watch back. He just gets dragged and you can see one of them sinking its teeth into his stomach.
‘It’s incredible he got away with there being two of them going for him. The vets said it was a miracle he made his way home and a miracle he was still alive.
‘They said they really didn’t think he would make it with the injuries that he suffered.
‘I have a young grandson and I dread to think what could have happened if he had been there instead of Mog’.
Sarah said she knew something bad must have happened when Mog failed to return home on the Saturday night.
She added: ‘My son mentioned he had heard shouting and screaming and dogs barking on the Saturday morning and that’s when we thought we should check CCTV.
‘After seeing that footage, we went straight out desperately looking for him.

West Mercia Police and the RSPCA are now investigating the attack after Mog suffered multiple puncture wounds and serious damage to his liver.
‘We had been getting so worried about him as he never misses his food. He’s a stray but has been coming here for eight years.
‘He very much feels like a family pet but we have tried to track down his owners before without any joy as he’s not microchipped. The vets tried too.
‘We searched the local park, we were stopping dog walkers, checking the playing fields behind our house – just everywhere we could think of really.
‘We were thinking the longer he’s out there he’s not going to survive that attack and then we found him on the Monday, July 22.
‘He must have somehow dragged himself back because he likes to sleep in this little wooden house in our garden. How he managed it, is beyond me.’
The family has now launched a GoFundMe appeal with hopes to raise funds to cover part of the vet bills.
Sarah added: ‘The owners have got another week to come forward and if they don’t, then he becomes ours then.
‘Obviously he’s not technically our cat, he’s not insured, and having three of your own who are insured, this sort of money to pay out out of the blue is a lot of money.
‘Police are saying they’ll get some dog handlers out and I’ve spoke to the RSPCA who say they are in contact with police.
‘We believe one of the breeds is an XL Bully which didn’t have a muzzle on, and the other could be a Pitbull the RSPCA think, which is a banned breed also.

‘We’ve heard there’s concerns over other animals welfare these people keep so we’re hoping the police and RSPCA act fast.’
Mog was left in intensive care with his injures and required round-the-clock care which led him being fed through a tube ‘like a baby’.
Sarah added: ‘He’s still on a drip now and needs antibiotics as he’s developed an infection so the vets costs could still rise from here.’
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: ‘We received a report that around 6.15am on Saturday 20 July a cat on Callowbrook Lane in Rubery had been attacked by a dog.
‘An investigation is on-going.’
