Celebrities watch Simone Biles win gold at vault finals

A-listers were out in force during the women’s gymnastics vault finals at the Paris Games, where Simone Biles added another gold medal to her collection.

She secured the seventh gold of her historic Olympic career in front of a star-studded crown that included actor John Travolta, track star Allyson Felix, artists Pharrell and Flavor Flav, her teammates and her parents.

The 27-year-old recorded a score of 15.3 across her two vaults ahead of Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade and teammate, Jade Carey, who secured bronze.

Newly-retired tennis legend Andy Murray was also spotted in the crowd, alongside tennis icon Billie Jean King.

‘Lol Andy Murray eating donut at the Olympics. He is leaning in to retirement already,’ one fan wrote on X, after NBC cameras cut to Murray chomping down on a donut.

Others applauded rapper Flavor Flav for consistently showing up during women’s events.

‘Watching Flavor Flav just absolutely show up and support women’s sports at this Olympics brings my heart so much joy. Not only does he sponsor US Women’s Water Polo, but he’s been all around Paris supporting all the women. He’s a National Treasure,’ one fan wrote after he was seen going wild for Biles.

Meanwhile, viewers took to Twitter to comment on how often the broadcast cut to the Grease actor,

‘John Travolta clapping like the Queen of England for Simone Biles,’ one person wrote.

Another tweeted, ‘The cuts to random celebs watching Simone Biles compete will never not be funny. Like why do they think we want to see John Travolta??’
