UK’s ‘oldest rioter’ jailed after screaming ‘I’m f***ing 70 mate’ throughout arrest

A 69-year-old man has been dubbed “UK’s oldest rioter” after causing unrest in the latest right-wing riots.

Retired welder William Morgan was captured on riot police bodycam footage, pinned to the ground by officers holding shields. The unrest kicked off on County Road in Liverpool on Saturday.

Morgan was arrested after refusing to move as police pushed back a crowd of violent protestors. In the footage, released by CPS, Morgan can be heard screaming, “I’m gonna die here. I’m English, I’m English”, in an attempt to defend himself.

The 69-year old then continued: “Get off me. I’m f***ing 70 years of age. F*** off, you c***, f*** off. You’re gonna kill me.”

The police officer attempting to arrest him asked: “Then why are you here? Why are you in a f***ing riot, man?”

Morgan claimed he was just trying to go home, adding: “You don’t know what I have been through. I’ve been pepper sprayed.”

Police firmly responded by instructing him to stop resisting, yelling “get your hands behind your back!”

The OAP pleaded guilty in Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, and was slapped with a 32 month prison sentence. Upon conviction, Judge Andrew Menary said: “You are 69 years of age now, but your advancing years did not stop you from taking part.”

He also added: “It is very sad indeed to see someone of your age and character in the dock of a Crown Court.”

Morgan reportedly claimed he was “profoundly” sorry, and blamed being under the influence of alcohol for his behaviour during the riots.

The prosecutor took no sympathy for the criminal, stating: “You were at the front of what was essentially a baying mob.”
