Mum came upon about lotto win after telephone name at cinema
A mother has told of the “surreal” moment she discovered she had bagged a hundred grand — and was given the news in the most unlikely of places.
Mum-of-two Christina, from Blaydon-on-Tyne, received a call from the People’s Postcode Lottery while watching the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie.
The lucky homeowner’s phone started buzzing as she enjoyed the latest Ryan Reynolds flick with her husband Matthew. And it turned out to be quite an important call.

“They phoned when I was in the cinema seeing Deadpool,” Christina, who has not revealed her last name, said. “I had a voicemail and an e-mail and I thought then, ‘This isn’t a joke, it will change our lives’.”
Nursery worker Christina and Matthew, who works at a Nissan car plant, now plan to take a break with their eight-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter. They also have their sights set on celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary in style later this year.

Christina hit the jackpot alongside seven of her neighbours, with each of their tickets worth a whopping £111,111. They will share the spoils after landing the weekly Millionaire Street prize.
Another lucky winner, who chose to stay anonymous, was even more stunned as he has since moved out of the postcode. He urged people to hold on to their tickets — and explained he even ran into the woman now living in his old home as he collected a giant cheque.
“We moved away about two and a half years ago but I decided to keep the ticket,” he said. “It was just on the off-chance that I won and it looks like that’s happened.
“I’d recommend this to anyone. Always keep your ticket on the off-chance.”
