Shooting in Leeds in broad daylight sees man, 27, rushed to hospital
Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was rushed to hospital following a shooting in Leeds.
Armed officers were called to an incident on Stainbeck Road in Meanwood at 2.47pm on Sunday afternoon, where a man was discovered with a gunshot wound.
The victim, 27, was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, where he remains in a stable, non-life threatening condition.
Forensic examination and specialist searches are underway at the scene near the junction with Stainbeck Avenue and are expected to continue overnight, as motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
West Yorkshire Police said it was working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify the people involved.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Lee Townley said: ‘We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and are working to identify those involved.
‘The criminal use of firearms on our streets is always something we treat extremely seriously, and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of this incident or who has any information or CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation.
‘We appreciate that an incident of this nature this will cause understandable concern in the community, and we are working closely with our colleagues at Leeds District to provide suitable reassurance to people in the area.’
