Emily Willis’ plight from movie scenes to battle for all times after ‘vegetative coma’
Emily Willis, the former adult film star who miraculously woke from a “vegetative coma” two months after suffering a cardiac arrest, has a backstory that’s as dramatic as her recent health scare.
Although Emily, 25, “woke up” from the coma in May this year, fans are still desperate to receive a further update on her reportedly “vegetative” state” three months ago. The adult star’s socials have remained threadbare, with no real health update from her or her family to mention.
Hailing from Argentina where she was born on December 29, 1998, Emily spent her upbringing in Utah before moving to San Diego, California. There she led a life far removed from the adult industry, working a regular sales job that was vastly more PG than her later exploits.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
Her destiny took a sharp turn when she swiped right on Tinder and matched with GirlsDoPorn performer and recruiter Andre Garcia. It was Garcia who propositioned Emily with the chance of starring in X-rated films.
She accepted and shot her very first scenes, which surfaced online in 2018, marking a new chapter in her life.
Stateside news is buzzing with updates on Emily, whose real name is Litzy Lara Banulos. After relocating to Las Vegas in 2018 and subsequently to Los Angeles, by May 2020 she embraced a daring role in ‘The Insatiable Emily Willis’, produced by Jules Jordan’s studio, featuring her first double penetration scene, reports the Daily Star.
However, 2021 saw Emily embroiled in off-screen drama when she lodged a $5million defamation lawsuit against fellow adult film actresses Gianna Dior and Adria Rae. The lawsuit came after accusations surfaced suggesting Emily had been involved in a sex act with an animal.
Following this legal action, a public apology from Adria Rae was forthcoming, and behind-the-scenes negotiations led to an out-of-court settlement. Rumour has it that the dust settled with the lawsuit being withdrawn in 2022.
In April 2022, Emily Willis joined the cast of Eddie Alcazar’s contentious thriller film, Divinity. Jacob Oller, writing for Paste, criticised the film for its “exhaustingly dull” extended sex scene featuring Emily.
However, Nadir Samara of Screen Rant praised Emily’s performance alongside stars Karrueche Tran, Bella Thorne and Moises Arias, claiming they gave Divinity a unique tone.
Emily has previously shared her favourite co-stars in the adult film industry, including Damon Dice, Ramon Nomar, Logan Long and Ricky Johnson. She has also collaborated with female performers such as Ariana Marie, Charlotte Stokely, Georgia Jones and India Summer.
She has bagged multiple AVN Awards, including Female Performer of the Year in 2021 and the 2022 AVN Award for Best Gangbang Scene, and has been nominated for several other risque scenes. By the close of 2023, she had featured in over 700 adult films and scenes with ‘Bratty Sis’, ‘Tinder In Real Life 4’ and ‘Emily Willis: Influence’ being top-rated on IMDB.
However, on February 5 this year, Emily was rushed to a medical facility in Thousand Oaks, California, following a cardiac arrest. She slipped into a “vegetative coma” but has since regained consciousness.
Despite this she remains unable to speak and can only track objects with her eyes, as per a GoFundMe update in May.
Emily’s family have been updating her supporters about her condition, sharing that her plans for a career change were put on hold due to her sudden health issues. According to the latest update on her GoFundMe page, her sibling has assured those who’ve donated that every penny is being used to aid Emily’s recovery and efforts are being made to transfer her to a hospital closer to home.
The update said: “Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for exceeding the donation goal, and all the support,” acknowledging the exceptional care Emily is currently receiving despite not yet achieving a hospital transfer.
They added: “The love and care everyone has expressed for my sister is inspiring. My family wouldn’t have been able to provide the level of care needed without your donations. Apologies for not providing an update sooner.
“The most important thing loved ones can do is provide stimulus by talking to her, reminiscing about all the fantastic memories, playing her favourite music, photos, and more. As of now, we haven’t been able to transfer hospitals, but the location she’s at provides great rehabilitation, care, and stimulus for her well being.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone for all your support and donations. From the bottom of our hearts we are extremely grateful to see the love from so many people who want to see Emily get better. Your donations give us the opportunity to make the best decisions for her care.
“I will provide updates of her recovery as we learn more information and time goes by. This is a long journey ahead of us, please be patient as this is the most difficult part of the state she’s in.”
Emily’s progress appears to have hit a standstill as doctors grapple with the mystery of how she suffered a cardiac arrest. With a toxicology report dismissing the presence of drugs in her system at the time, as per the New York Post, her family is now hopeful to transfer her from their current California hospital to one in St. George, Utah.
