Submarine skipper fired for saucy video he made whereas accountable for lethal nukes
The skipper of a Royal Navy ‘bomber boat’ submarine that carries nuclear missiles has been given the boot. Top brass saw an X-rated video he made while on duty, according to reports.
The Sun reported that he was in command of a Vanguard-class nuclear submarine, armed with Trident Two missiles, when he shared the graphic vid with a junior sailor on the sub. It is not clear which of the four Vanguard subs – HMS Vanguard, Vengeance, Victorious and Vigilant – he skippered.
Colleagues alleged that the pair had an illicit physical relationship when the bomber boat was at sea, but a Royal Navy source reportedly told the aforementioned title that sex on board did not form part of the investigation.

However, top brass have accused the skipper – who has met Princess Anne in his work – of sharing X-rated images as well as the damning clip.
When he was rumbled he was moved to a desk job before eventually being fired all together, The Sun stated.
The Royal Navy told The Sun last night: “All forms of unacceptable behaviour are taken extremely seriously and anything which falls short of the highest standards will not be tolerated.
“Anyone who is found culpable will be held accountable for their actions, regardless of their rank or status.”
The Daily Star has reached out for further comment.
It comes after a Royal Navy officer secretly filmed himself having sex with a female officer before uploading it to a Snapchat group for ‘bragging rights’, a court martial heard in 2022.
The woman was ‘extremely shocked and appalled’ when a friend later told her Sub Lieutenant Scott Ewing had used his phone to record the video while she was not looking, the hearing was told.
The 11 seconds clip allegedly showed SLt Ewing having sexual intercourse with her whilst she was facing away from him, turning to smile at the camera and making an ‘ok’ sign with his fingers.
Ewing avoided a jail sentence but was ‘dismissed with disgrace’ from the Armed Forces.
