Inside creepy ‘stunning residence’ in woods with terrifying Pudsey bear and Beaker
An urban explorer chanced upon an abandoned home that looked like it had been frozen in time.
Dubbed a ‘fossilised time capsule’ by Tokyo Matilda who documents her discoveries on Facebook and on her eponymous YouTube channel, the large country home just out of Manchester was abandoned in 2023.
However, it looks as if it has been empty for much longer than that, with piles of creepy dolls included a Children in Need Pudsey who looks in dire need itself. And a tatty Beaker cuddy toy from The Muppet Show that appears trauamatised by the urban explorer entering it’s home.
Speaking on a recent video, Matilda said she was “flabbergasted” by the discovery as she surveys mould and flies cluttering up the home.

She said: “Engulfed in woodlands is this beautiful house. Left abandoned only recently in 2023 is evident that the daily upkeep and groundskeeping became difficult way before then.”
Matilda claimed in the video that the home owner passed away around Christmas in the winter of 2023 which left the woman’s “belongings and grand children’s memories left to rot and decay”.
As she entered through the unlocked door, Matilda clocks the state of the rotting two-storey house as soon as she opens the door. “Wow look at the decay already,” she exclaimed.
She headed upstairs, noting the “flies and bugs everywhere” to take a peek and is amazed at the bedroom, which is filled with ornaments, knickknacks, and dolls.
“Why is there dolls everywhere we go?” she asked the urban explorer who has joined her on the adventure. “There are dolls everywhere.
“I don’t know what it is about old people and dolls.”
The bedroom remained in the state it was left in, with the deceased homeowners’s clothing and personal items still in the room, which has extensive damage to the walls and ceiling.
Matilda investigated more of the house, passing photos of the homeowner and her husband, discovering a second filthy room, with a chest of dolls.
As she listed the characters she can see in the stash, including Pudsy bear, Noddy and Humpty Dumpty, she became distracted by the state of the window sill.
“God, look at all the dead animals and flies and muck,” she exclaimed.
Back on the dolls, Matilda said, “It’s like going back to your childhood coming to a place like this,” as the camera panned to yet another stash of teddy bears, stuffed toys and dolls that blink.
Downstairs the house was in an equally decrepit state, with blown-in leaves filling the laundry, and ivy growing through the kitchen windows.
The lounge room contained a mould-coved piano, and on entering the room, Matilda said she can hear the flies “buzzing”.
“Definitely one of the saddest explores we’ve done.” Matilda said. “It really is, especially when you can put a face to a name.”
