Nigel Farage pockets £97,000 a month immediately making him the very best paid MP
Nigel Farage pocketed more than £97,000 a month last year, instantly making him the UK’s highest earning MP.
Newly published documents reveal the Reform UK leader trousered almost £1.2 million in payments from GB News and social media websites.
Last year he also made £16,597.22 making custom videos for users of the website Cameo, which allows people to pay up to £75 for Mr Farage to wish them a happy birthday or give a pep talk.
Mr Farage estimates he spends 24 hours a month recording the 40-second clips.
He also raked in £1,551 through X, formerly Twitter, and £853 from Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram.
He also revealed his trip to the Republican National Convention Milwaukee, Wisconsin days after the assassination attempt on Donald trump cost £32,000 – and was funded by a tech billionaire based in Thailand.
British born crypto investor Christopher Harborne, who has previously pumped millions into Reform party coffers, paid for the trip.
Mr Farage said the purpose of the trip had been to “support a friend who was almost killed and to represent Clacton on the world stage.”
He did not name Mr Trump on his declaration. The figures were revealed in the first Register of Members Interests to be published since July’s election.
MPs are required to declare any income over £100, or £300 from the same source in a year. And new MPs have to declare all their relevant income for the last 12 months when they join the Commons.
Members are also required to declare any gifts or hospitality they receive. Some five MPs declared they’d been given freebie tickets to see Taylor Swift – including Keir Starmer.
The Prime Minister declared the gift of four hospitality tickets to see the Shake It Off singer at Wembley Stadium in June, at an estimated value of £4,000.
Labour MPs Ian Byrne, Dan Carden, Kim Johnson and Catherine McKinnell also declared free tickets to Taylor Swift concerts in London and Liverpool.
