Hawk Tuah girl opened up about a recent disappointing public appearance and admitted the crowd weren’t happy with her.
Haliey Welch, nicknamed Hawk Tuah girl, went viral in June after she responded “hawk tuah, spit on that thing,” during a street interview about how to please a man. Since then, the social media star has been growing her audience and documenting her life, raking in thousands of dollars in the process.
The 22-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, has gained some loyal fans with an impressive 2.3million followers via her Instagram. However, some have criticised Haliey, angry about how she’s capitalised on her “15-seconds of fame.”

Most recently the blonde appeared at a baseball game for the Mets where she was invited to throw the first pitch in front of spectators. The game saw a 7-6 loss for New York, but many people questioned why the viral sensation was there.
A report for Newsday also revealed that everyone in the stadium were not allowed to refer to her by her viral social media name. After, the star faced severe backlash online.
She released a statement on X revealing the real reason why she was present. “So I guess some of the baseball community wasn’t too happy to see me yesterday,” she started.
“The main reason I went to the game was to spread awareness and donate to America’s vet dogs which pairs dogs with war veterans for a forever home.
“Join me in donating to this amazing charity. I miss ya already Buddy.”
Welch later uploaded a link to vetdogs.org. and encouraged her dedicated followers to donate what they can to the worthy cause. Along with her message, she shared a video meeting Labrador named Buddy at the game.
Buddy wore a Mets jersey and enjoyed treats provided by Welch. The owner of the organisation gave Welch a custom baseball card made for the dog.
He explained that the dog is trained to assist veterans and first responders. Several social media users encouraged Welch and suggested she has a heart of gold.
“Ironically, you made a semi-bawdy joke and went viral for it. But honestly, every single other interaction I have seen, you have been a positive and uplifting season, I wish you nothing but success,” a user responded to the social media post.
“Just keep doing you. You’re doing you,” wrote another. Welch has since been documenting her trip online to her online audience, including posing straight-faced in front of the Statue of Liberty.
