Mick Lynch’s fraud case co-defendant dies in automobile crash after pal’s yacht sank
The co-defendant in a fraud case alongside Brit businessman Mike Lynch, who is missing after his yacht was hit by a surprise tornado, has died following a car crash, it has been reported.
Tech entrepreneur Lynch was reportedly aboard the £14million superyacht off the coast of Sicily that was hit by a tornado this morning, August 19. He is still missing, according to reports.
The yacht in question is The Bayesian, which is understood to have been 56 metres long and cost around £166k a week to rent.

According to sources familiar with the situation, billionaire Lynch was one of 22 people aboard The Bayesian when it sunk.
Only months ago he was cleared of fraud charges he faced in the US over the £8.6billion sale of that business – Autonomy – to Hewlett-Packard in 2011.
And, it has now been reported that Stephen Chamberlain was fatally injured just days before the freak storm that downed The Bayesian. Chamberlain, Autonomy’s vice president of finance alongside chief executive Lynch, was put on life support after he was hit by a car in Cambridgeshire on Saturday morning, August 17.
Chamberlain’s lawyer Gary Lincenberg told MailOnline: “Our dear client and friend Steve Chamberlain was fatally struck by a car on Saturday while out running.
“He was a courageous man with unparalleled integrity. We deeply miss him.
“Steve fought successfully to clear his good name at trial earlier this year, and his good name now lives on through his wonderful family.”
Chamberlain faced the same charges of fraud and conspiracy as his former boss, but they were acquitted of all 15 charges by a jury in San Francisco in June.
The pair were charged with allegedly scheming to inflate the value of Autonomy, then Britain’s largest software firm, before it was sold.
Chamberlain left the company in 2012 and went on to work in a series of roles, including a volunteer role as a finance director for Cambridge United football club.
Cambridgeshire Police had appealed for witnesses after a collision between a pedestrian and a car in Stretham, Cambridgeshire.
