Couple win Lottery twice in three weeks due to ‘simple trick anybody can do’

A lucky couple who won the lottery not once, but twice in just three weeks – and they put their success down to an easy, legal trick, which they say anyone can do.

Neil and Hayley, both from Darwen, Lancashire, won £30,000 after signing up for the People’s Postcode Lottery three months ago. The couple had recently moved into their new home when they decided to try their luck.

Electrician Neil said: “We just bought the house three months ago. I got a £10 prize the first month and now £30,000.”

Three weeks later, the couple’s postcode came up again, landing them another, slightly smaller, cash prize, reports Birmingham Live.

The couple believe there’s a simple reason behind their luck, that anyone can test out.

Neil said: “We started playing as soon as we moved in.”

Not only has playing the lottery given Neil and finance Hayley a welcomed cash boost during the cost-of-living crisis but it has strengthened their street’s community.

The couple’s first win was cause for celebrations up and down their street. Spring Vale Garden Village, where they live and which is split into two postcodes, went from a a quiet residential street into a massive party when 18 residents bagged a staggering £540,000 between them.

Neighbour Emma said: “It’s amazing to win with our neighbours. We’ve all been talking to each other, and it’s really brought the street together.”

Many of the street’s residents will put their winnings towards holidays.

Neighbour Ross said: “I’ve not been away this year. I might organise a lads’ weekend in Majorca. They’ve treated me enough in the past, so it’s probably my turn to treat them.”

Another neighbour, mum-of-three and mental health support worker Cathy will soon depart for South Africa and plans to go to Lesbos for a friend’s wedding and then head off to Benalmadena in Spain with colleagues.

However, another neighbour, Mark, has different plans.

The dad-of-one said:”I like gaming tattoos.

“I might get Sonic this time. My little boy loves that. Off the top of my head, I might also get the lottery logo in there. I’ll tell the tattooist what I want and he’ll do a good job.”
