House crashes into sea and floats away as beachgoers all scream the identical factor

This is the shocking moment an entire house on the North Carolina coast collapsed and was swept up by the sea.

The unoccupied home was the seventh seaside abode along the coast to crumble into the tides within the past four years. In the viral clip posted to Instagram, onlookers can be heard screaming as the sea claims its victim.

Within a matter of minutes, the structure is all but destroyed as the ferocious waves batter it relentlessly. According to reports, no one was in the house at the time of the collapse with all onlookers safe following the incident.

The property didn’t stand a chance

Underneath the viral video, people flocked to give their opinion on the impressive power of the ocean, with some stating the person behind the camera had a “front row seat to climate change”.

Many others questioned firstly, why the abandoned property hadn’t been removed before the sea carried out the removal job, and secondly why someone would build a house that close to the shore.

“Honest question – is there a reason this house wasn’t proactively moved or razed?” asked one person.

“Who’s the genius that built that home?” another enquired.

“You would think that the house would have been demolished and safely removed before ending up like this where it can pollute the ocean and endanger marine life,” someone else said.

A second video posted by the same Instagram user shows the structure even further into the sea, leaving a trail of rubble and debris from where it used to stand. Each time a fresh wave approaches, the house is slowly dragged further and further out into the ocean.

Many questioned why the structure was built there in the first place

Sometimes houses are so poorly built they don’t even need the help of nature to bring them tumbling down. In April, a dream home that featured on property show Grand Designs fell in on itself after it was claimed a builder forgot one of the most important rules.

Speaking to The Sun, home owner Richard said: “I was standing by the camera person looking at the camera. You hear this almighty crash. One of the things they were told not to do was lean on the first layer of tiles.

“It’s extremely delicate. It’s the subsequent layers that make it stronger. [The stonemason] leaned too much. It made part of it fail and whatever that was left fell with it. So that was dramatic.”
